A belated introduction

Perhaps I was rude to begin posting here without introducing myself. Let me attempt to correct that. I am Bruce Dick, 58, Recreation Supervisor at Salinas Valley State Prison in Soledad, CA. I live nearby but I won't post the name of the town because we don't publicize details of our private lives that might pose a security risk.
I have been a Polk fan since I bought my 7b's in 1981. I currently listen with a pair of LSi7's and a DSW PRO 400 driven by an HK 3485 receiver. I have belonged to Club Polk since I learned of it in January. I have been reading posts occasionally since then. Recently I posted 25 times in short order to gain the right to post in the flea market because I need a new mid-woofer for my crippled 7b. Apparently this has offended some. I meant no offense. From my perspective, I just learned the rules and followed them.
I hope to have some pleasant and fruitful exchanges with some of you.

I didn't have a problem with any of your posts.
I don't know if polk still carries replacement drivers for your 7b.
If not, be patient and you will find one here or on ebay eventually.
welcome to the forum -
Well, I'm betting now that you're looking to buy instead of spamming to sell, some might be a little less offended. My equipment sig felt inadequate and deleted itself.

Welcome to Club Polk.
I just reread your post-You had people giving you crap about posting in the Want to Buy section? Is its a rule that you have to have 25 posts to post in the Want to Buy section? I only see that rule listed as a sticky in the For Sale section.____________________

I used to post details of my life that compromised national security all the time.

Hi Bruce and welcome.
I think I may have seen your place of work featured on the show Lockdown?Testing

Thanks to all of you for the warm words.
I took a closer look and I see that I didn't need 25 posts to use the WTB part of the flea market. It wasn't a waste of time; I read a lot of posts and learned my way around. I tries to make my posts worthwhile.
I would enjoy attending Polkfest, but my job makes that impossible.
I think our joint was on TV a year or two ago on the National Geographic channel. I forget the title. I didn't see the program.

Are you sure you have a MW6500 woofer in there? Reason I ask is that according to this parts list - the 7b is supposed to have a MW6502. And there are one of those for sale here (well was in June anyway)....
Only speaker with a MW6500 is the original Monitor 10 & 10A speakers.
If nothing else, I believe you can still purchase them from Polk customer service or pick up another pair of monitors cheap to use as parts to refurb yours. (just a suggestion)
Good luck in your search.

Yes, I'm sure it's a MW6500. I pulled the bad one and read that on it. I am less sure that I have a 7b. I am going to post that question in vintage.
Thanks for the input.

I find it ironic that CL who professes to love the rules only seems to NOT have an issue with rules being broken if it suits him and portray him as protecting the 'ganged upon new members against the meanie vets'............talk about a moron......he would be a bad one to emulate here, fyi.....
Everyone's welcome here B.......it's just those that act like a **** that find people reacting to them accordingly......comment comment comment comment. bitchy. -
Thanks, Keiko
