FYI. Truly thinking of putting my pristine (and I do mean pristine and flawless) SDA 3.1TL's on ebay. They are absolutely in mint condition. I will have a reserve on them and if I do not get what I am willing to sell for its no loss to me. I still love them. I am considering downsizing a bit, but do not have to. I will not ship and if someone is interested they will have to come and get them. That way there will be no sight unseen BS and it will save the buyer a bundle. They can make a vacation out of it.

Do you know how many posts you need to sell them here?
    I bet you do!
I hope we do not go down the same road on this subject again today.

He did say he was going to sell them on ebay.

Although, if it were me, I'd be very aware of the 25 post rule and tread lightly now.

I dunno man, many a polkie's have sold their SDA's and regretted it later. If you don't need to, and sounds like you don't want then I'd suggest.....don't do it.

MODs/Admins!! I recommend (I know I have absolutely no authority or tenure to do so but :o ) that any Polkie that has been a member for over 7 years regardles of the # of posts or active participation, be allowed to post in the FS section. I move to have the rules modified (not a rule exception) to make it so.

So Gunther, in 5 posts, can you describe these SDAs and their sound in your opinion? Then after you reach you're 25th total post without any attempt at selling them; thereby avoiding all potential mobbing, you can post them on the Polk FS section to the polkies first, before EB (;) ).

Most volunteer firehouses have a similar policy-Lifetime Member, they can be 93 years old and not have to respond to a single fire call or meeting, yet still be a full member with all of its benefits (insurance, etc) (note when most firehouses release thier active member counts-yeah they also include the lifetime members as well)

Maybe Polk can establish a Founding member status-when did this board start?

Wow, you sure are quick to defend the guy. I belong to a board or two where if you don't post for over a year, you get dropped as a non participant.

I'm sure Gunther is a great guy, but It's not hard to drop in every few months and say hi.

    No affiliation.

I think the 25 post rule doesn't protect anyone-Buyer beware at all times. The 25 posts can easily be done by simply replying to posts in the Clubhouse-doesn't really need to be meaningful there does it?

The quickness has nothing to do with Gunther at all. I've been lurking in a lot of the recent 'under 25 post FS attack threads' without ever saying a word. However, with the most recent one, I felt compelled to, in a simple and in a friendly manner, try to ensure that he is aware of the rules without bashing or being accusatory.

Some of his past posts are in '07, its not like he hasn't posted since '01. Lets keep in mind what the likely intention of the rule is for. In my mind it's to keep out SPAM or at least cut down on it, which allows the mods the right to delete a post without any explanation (not saying they don't have the right anyway, but I'm sure the lawyers wanted the rule put in). The rule in no way protects anybody. Its false security if anybody thinks its some kind of protection.

When did the board actually start? Could it have been earlier than Jul 2001 and converted over from an older BBS or something in Jul 2001? Or did it actually start in Jul 2001?

There are lots of things in the world I dissagree with, but a rule is a rule. I don't make them here, I'm just willing to follow them here.

BTW nice sig tag, I might have to plaguerize it a bit.:D

check below.. see if you can decipher the hieroglyphics for yourself..

I'll translate the best I can... it says.. in the century of 21st... you will all be annoyed by one particular member of a thing called a forum.. his user name will be CL35m :p:p:p:p

    Rules....
You must have a total post count of 25 (contribute to the other parts of the forum) before you can sell anything in the "For Sale (FS) Classifieds" or "Garage Sale" forums.

This forum goes back at least to September of '99. That's when I got here.

The rules work fine until special people come along.
