I found an old thread http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1161&highlight=rm3000 which provided the specs for my RM1000W sub, but not the 3000's.

Anyone have these specs?

thanks

Followup question; what would make one of these speakers suddenly crap out?

I've had them since new when I purchased them around 1994.

The had been hooked up to their current configuration since early 2000.

Went to play some CD's a week or 2 ago and the sound wasn't there; muted and no clarity at all.

I verified it wasn't the receiver by switching with other speakers where the sound was normal.

    Any suggestions?

When you swapped speakers did you use the same speaker wires for both? Also are the tweeters fine?
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
    Ben

Re-reading my post; to clarify, both RM3000's "went bad" at the same time.
The speakers I used to check the front connection were the surround speakers.
Speaker wires are the same since 1994. They are in excellent condition as far as I can tell (clean, no kinks, etc).
The receiver is a Denon AVR 1500, 70 watts.

Just reconnected the 3000's to the front, took the covers off and plain as day, there was nothing coming out of either 3-1/2 inch driver.

All I can say is that I guess the sound from the tweeters is normal; it's so different from what I'm used to hearing from the speakers.

    Hello,
When you order let Polk know you're a CP member and you'll get them for $48.00 each and free shipping.

A while back Motzart posted the front of the RM3000 spec sheet, which included specs for the RM1000W. Unfortunately, I need one thing more.

I want to drive the sub with a single-channel subwoofer amp, but the typical RM1000W setup is for stereo inputs. I'm thinking that the 5th (blue) terminal on the subwoofer has something to do with doing mono input correctly. If anyone can describe what that terminal was for, or post a copy of the instructions, I'd be most thankful.

By the way, my situation is that I'm planning to get a much bigger subwoofer early next year, but I already have the amp so I might as well use it.
