I just purchased a pair of RT1000Ps off ebay (thanks for the heads up, gwh) and picked them up a few hours ago. They have real oak (looks like oak) veneer on the tops, sides and fronts. I can't say I've ever seen real wood veneer on the front a Polk RT series speaker before. Anywho, the back of the speakers say RTE1000P but the owner's manual states RT1000P/RT2000P, which I'm sure they used the same manual for all the similar models. Another thing that struck me as different from the RT1000Ps I used to own is the front plastic Polk logo has "RTE Series" on the front as well in red.

I worked at Circuit City from 1998 until 2003 and saw a lot of the RT series come through there but nothing like these. Just wondering if Polk made these for non chain stores like Circuit City?
