Yep, I'll be there. Toymaker, Engtaz, [possibly gdb], TNRabbit, Lightman1, Skip, F1nut and around 45 other folks are to be attending this year's event including Mr. Bob Carver himself. Gonna be a lot of fun!

Hey guys, spread the word I am going to post a pair of beautiful oak AL-III's with the Infinity sub mods up for sale here for $750. I was going to post them for sale and offer to bring them to Polkfest next month. I'll post these in the Classified section in about a week with photo's. These same AL-III's are famous here and the previous owners include Normality (RIP), Scompracer, ND-13, Ricardo and me. Rich did the mods. I love these speakers but I don't have the room configuration to set them up properly. Someone needs to own these so they can be played and loved. PM me if you want a "sneak peak":D

Damn Carl; I was just the other day thinking on how I missed those beautiful looking and beautiful sounding speakers. Good luck with the sale; I hope they stay in the family.

Carl, IIRC we used Cardas 12 gauge wire to connect the woofies to the thing with resistors, caps and knobs on it. I can't seem to find the pics. I only have pics of the AL III +'s we modded in the same way. I'd like to try the AL's with an active xover.

Rich, these AL-III's sound fabulous!;) I couldn't remember all the tweaking you did with them. I was going to ask you about that before I posted the for sale ad. This thread gave me the opportunity to spread the word among the good folks on the Carver Forum (many of the same members as here).

I thought about an active crossover and a bi-amp. That would be fun! The AL-III's were said to have weak bass response, but I never heard an original pair. The Infinity sub mod gave these speaks excellent bass response.

I'd like someone to use them in their main system. Here is a pic that Ricardo took at his house of the speakers:

I can't seem to find any innard pics, except for the stock woofie which we sold off. The upgraded woofers were Infinity 1040w's.

I did find a pic of when they were here. SDA SRS 2's and Al III +'s are off to the left.

    I did find a file photo of a 1040w.

Not really, since I'm not his intellectual equal. I'm just not fascinated by his work. Sorry.

It is pretty cool that he's giving some gear away.

That forum would have died ages ago if it wasn't for dedicated Club Polk members.

Ok keep on thinking that :D. Bob Carver will continue to flourish with or without the Carver forum or Club Polk the same way Matthew Polk will continue to flourish with or without this forum or the Carver forum.

LOL :) I bet your always blushing based on the temperature you live in....wow.

I just talked to F1Nut on the way back from Carverfest, with some dude named Ed(Carver Forum) and he said it was very cool. The cabin location sounds like its top notch, the demos were solid and the turnout very nice(40+?), to include that Bob Carver dude. What else can you ask for?
