and any tidbits about them.

I'm talking nightclubs here for drinking and dancing not bars.

Warrensburg MO; 1. The Grainery: college town disco and restaurant thick in the disco era, previously a feed store thus the name, completely remodeled but far from chic, heard rumors the rats in the basement were huge, heard rumors the owner was ****, the owner was shot dead after I moved away.

Tulsa OK; 1. The Winners Circle: hotel nightclub/disco at the Hilton, I-44 & Yale, one of the few that didn't go country during the urban cowboy phenomenon, had to buy a $10-$20 yearly membership since Tulsa was a dry county, this is how all the clubs and bars got around the liquor law, all the bottles of liquor had a white sticker with a person's name handwritten on it so it looked like a byob establishment/private club, some wild times there, about midway thru the night a gator contest was held, everyone stood around the edge of the dance floor while a guy and girl would dance in the middle with the guy on the floor like a gator and the girl dancing over the top of him, kind of like a table dance but on the floor, they could get as nasty as they wanted to but clothes were kept on.

2. Miss Vicki's: nice little club on 11th St
3. The Place: gunshots in the parking lot a few times
4. Brown Sugar: nightclub in the hood

Houston TX; 1. Club Avalon: live band upstairs (fairly intimate with theatre seating and a stage and dancefloor at the bottom, dj downstairs, huge dance floor, I hardly ever went downstairs.

2. Club Oasis: busiest nights were thursday and sunday go figure
3. Club Phoenix: nice but pretty typical nightclub

Many more I'm sure I left out. I did make it to Gilleys before it burnt down. and a nice club in texas city called mays that I spent many friday and saturday nights at when I was 17.

Plum Crazy, Charlotte NC. THE best bar that was.........

Yes, was. Johnny passed away and it's now a "gentlemens club" that......well, sucks.

Houston: Marfrellas; I have to mention this one because it's the only one like it I've been to. Maybe there's one similar to it in every major city. I would call it a make-out bar complete with couches upstairs and 2 small rooms that are fairly dark, one might even be completely dark, I don't remember and I didn't go in it. It's not a swingers bar and it's not a **** bar. It's a relatively nice place to take your girlfriend, have a drink, sit on the couch and exchange a few or a lot of kisses and feels or grinding action and such or just talk :p. No one stares, there's no hardcore or softcore sex going on. There's no sign or light or windows where the front door is. Just a plain painted metal door on the side of a building with no windows. It's on the side and towards the back of a old historic movie theater. Right outside the door is a parking lot used nonchalantly by all the businesses in the area. No valet parking. No door man. No cover. Shhhh don't tell anyone, it's a secret.
