I just bought a used PS3 to get me into the blu ray world. What are some must haves. Which movies do justice to the blu ray name. (sound and picture quality)

Are there any concert blu rays that knock your socks off?

Went out and bought 25 discs last week (new/used from various retailers), and those that have blown me away so far in PQ/AQ are I am Legend, Blackhawk Down, Pearl Harbor, and Transformers and the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

The Nightmare Before Christmas, it's on that's near, if not, perfect. The scenes in Christmas Town are amazing!

Look for the one that has the Dolby TrueHD sound track, the older one only has a PCM track.

Is there much of a difference between LPCM (Uncompressed) and Dolby TrueHD?

There is not supposed to be....when Dolby TrueHD is uncompressed (un-"zipped") it is equivalent to PCM.

    And that's all I'm saying... :p

Because the words "Dolby TrueHD" sounds cooler than "LPCM" but not as cool as "DTS-HDMA." :p

There are some disc where the mixes do sound different, ''300'' comes to mind right of the the top of my head, but there supposed to be identical.

This is like Star Trek now. It probably has something to do with pulse coil modulator when the plasma relay overheats exciting the neurons causing a phase shift in the matter stream.
