I am a winner of this auction, but the seller refused to
ship the item to me at my Illinois address...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=14993&item=1949485878&rd=1

Anyone Live in Dallas, Tx. .....Please HELP...
Har, I'm sorry, I'm just not going to ship them. If I had listed these
speakers with the option of delivery, they would have sold for much higher
than $74.99.

This my answer to him:

Hello,

You cannot refuse, because you put it with no reserve
and that I am entiled for it.

You have already 240 rating you know how it works,
Please don't cheat me for this...

Please calculate the shipping at my Illinois
address.

Regards,
Har

    Russ,
    From the seller:
Hi Har - I received a message from your friend and I told him that would
work out ok. I'll send you an invoice for the speakers, and once you pay,
I'll meet with your friend as soon as possible.

    God Bless!

I'm gonna do this, but riddle me this joker:

PLEASE tell me you aren't going to rape these Classic Monitor 7's, the speaker that very well may have put Polk on 'the map', just for the tweets... Say it aint so Har!

Get the payment side worked out, then I'll go meet the lady and bag your speakers. Of course, shipping may be delayed a couple days, I'll be damned if I'm not going to get my demo on.

    Cheers,
    Russ

    Hey russ,

Didn't know this until this afternoon that my dad was in you backdoor this week. He had been there in dallas for a business trip with the eastman co. One of the guys there in dallas took him to mckinny for supper. I can't remember were it was he said that they had eaten at, but he said it was the biggest beef filet that he had ever had. He said they went to some big audio store there in dallas bet couldn't remember the name of it and that they had some polk bookshelves for 99 bucks. Well just wanted to throw that at ya, just thought it was pretty cool him being right on top of were you live. :D

    Troy,

As a matter of fact, I want the whole set of speakers. I will
take it with me when I will go for vacation back home and leave
it there so that anywhere I go I will listen to polk sounds:D and the size of 7's are perfect to bring back home.

I also want the 5jr to bring home...;) I'm sure these little babies
    will sound similar to CRS's...

    Har,
Did you see the beat-to-s**t 7's that just went for $73 on e-bay? Don't think even Russ would have fussed at you for salvaging these...

    Russ,

Oldest I've had is 18 yr-old Glenmorangie.... nice... Also quite fond of Oban... Going to do the Whiskey trail this summer.. I've read that some distilleries offer a cc or two of 100 yr-old at the end of their tour... Give me a blank check and I'll bring you back some...

I'm outside of H-town... If you're ever down this way, let me know...

A great "whiskey" and a fine home rig... can it get any better?
    Oh yea... women...I almost forgot...
    More later,

Bad news so far Har, I've got em, but not so sure you want them.

The tweeters in both speakers seem to work, and be in decent shape. In one of the speakers, the midbass produces some very weak sound, and does not move even the smallest bit in its suspension. The voicecoil seems to be seized. The midbass on the other speaker is not seized, but produces no sound whatsoever.

There are some small chips in the veneer on the top sides, and bottom sides.

Let me know what to do bro, shipping will be costly, these effers are heavy, and apparently not working.

Har, just keep me posted, the tweets and pr's seem in good shape, I won't remove them and check the xover until I hear from you. Just saying, I know you're gonna be hot about this, but maybe the salvagable parts will be worth it.

I did email you and the seller, just for a heads up on the situation.

The drive was 78 miles, not saying I won't do it again if need be, but it will borderline on a 'beating'.

    Cheers,

Yeah, I never cracked the case to look, one was totally siezed and made SOME sound, the other was loose in its suspension but ZERO sound.

As for the seized ones, I'm wondering if over the next several years those magnets are going to start letting go without even being moved? I mean at this point when they get shook around the glue lets go. A little scary huh??? Damn, I've got almost 60 of them in all the SDA's. Well, I guess you cant complain about 20 years of service.

I'm not too worried... Yet. I am hesitant to move them around. No wait, that is because they are so heavy.
