Am I the only one who notices the text sucks?

Are you using XP? If so, right click on MY COMPUTER, click the ADVANCED tab, click on PERFORMANCE and check to see if you have Smooth Edges of Screen Fonts checked. If so, uncheck it. If you don't, check it. Then try Chrome.

If that doesn't work, right click on a blank section of your desktop, click on PROPERTIES, click on APPEARANCE tab, click on EFFECTS button and check to see if Use the Following Method to Smooth Edges of Screen Fonts is checked. If so, toggle between STANDARD and CLEAR FONT. If not, check it and try Chrome with one of those settings.

You might want to check every menu and option in Chrome as well to see if they have anything screen font options.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks Tuggy I do have smooth on, but... Just not as smooth as IE. I'll wait the extra millisecond for IE to load. Not that I am a big MS fan;)

So now that it's been a couple of weeks, are any of you regularly using Chrome?

I have only found one site that I frequent that seems to have an issue with it. Other than that one site I've been very pleased with it. I have yet to see it crash, and it still seems very quick.

I tried this at home over the weekend. I gave up on this POS after 5 minutes. Every time I launched it, it crashed before it even made it to a homepage. Must not be compatible with XP 64-bit.

I downloaded Chrome a couple weeks ago and I think I love this thing!

Ive got a 6 year old Sony Vaio that still works pretty well but with the 1.6 GHz processor any sites with a lot of flash animation REALLY slows it down. Cnet.com is one of the worst. Firefox worked a little better than IE but not much better especially when I upgraded to version 3. However, Chrome works like a charm. No websites are slow now. Cnet has a chop or two in it every once in a while but for the most part its nice and smooth.

It has the spell check feature like Firefox that checks text as you type it. I love the bookmarks bar where you can put several of your most viewed sites on. I love the tab window that displays your most recent webpages.

It took a little getting used to but now that I am, I dont see me going back to IE or Firefox anytime soon.

I highly recommend it especially for anybody with an older computer. Kudos Google!

Bringing up and an old thread, but I just mistakenly hit a button and found a cool feature. Control + number = changing tabs

So if you have 5 tabs open, hit Ctrl + 1 and it goes to the first tab, Ctrl + 3 goes to the 3rd tab, etc. Always wanted a shortcut to switch between tabs but was always to lazy to figure out if there was one...and there is.

I always just CTL-TAB through them all, if you dind't already know about that one. Works for pretty much everything that has tabs, not just Chrome

This goes along with performance (which is why most people use Chrome) - If you have an older computer or laptop with an older version of Windows on it...get Windows 7.

It works even better than XP on older machines.

Oh, and I like Opera a lot more than IE or Chrome personally. I just like how it's laid out.

And +1000 to what Bobman said. CTL+TAB is pretty darn useful when you get a lot of tabs open.

Yeah, and I'll probably will continue to use that one more, but I thought it was cool. Like finding a cheat in a game you didn't know was there...haha.
