I just bi-wired my Rti10s, should I still set my receiver to 80Hz?

Just so I understand... You've got 2, 2 channel amps. And you are driving two speakers... And they bridged... and they are bi-amped...

I don't understand. Are you driving the mids/highs with the receiver and the bass with the bridged Sony amps?

I have to say with the extra power and the bi-wire my RTi10s have never sounded better, albeit a little on the bright side. :D

Not using receiver for the front channel, I'm using two 2-channel amps bridged so effectively turning them into two mono amps and then I have them bi-wired to my RTi10s.

So... bi-wiring different then bi-amping? Why not just use heavier gauge wire?

EDIT: Although I do understand what you are doing now.

Well there are different theories on this. If just the highs, or lows are on one set then that is supposed to have benefits. Another thing is some wires are good on the highs, but not the lows. I am running silver on the highs, and AQ's on the lows. As you stated with the same type of wire it effectively increases the ga. If you were to start from scratch I would recommend one nice set of wires over two decent sets. YMMV

Bi-wire is just taking the left and right signal from your receiver or amp and then splits into four at the speaker for a better connection, hard wired instead of connect to one set of binding posts and then jumpered to the upper half of the speaker. Bi-amp is using one channel of an amp to power the lower half of a speaker and another channel to power the upper half.

Thanks for the clarification. Although I am an engineer I've found the terminology doesn't always carry over with the same meaning.

Bi-amp is using one channel of an amp to power the lower half of a speaker and another channel to power the upper half.

Look at the schematic, Bi-wiring is just moving the location of the jumper from your speaker binding posts to your amp's binding posts.
