SDA's for a smaller room...

Hey guys.
Finally looking to dig up a pair of the speakers I dreamed of as a teenager but could never afford. Well, the ones I really wanted were the SDA SRS's, but in my smallish apartment, they ain't gonna work.
Anyhow, what I have been wondering is what would be my best option for SDA's in a smaller room. The CRS's make sense of course, but the 2's seem like they would work also. An overabundance of bass is not a good things where I am either.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Erik

I had a pair of SDA 1C's in my 12 X 12 home office with a 200wpc amp on them and they sounded great. Then, I picked up a pair of SRS II's that did office duty until I was done with the living room wall (hanging plasma, installing LCR's, dropping cables, etc). The main thing is not getting the real "SDA" effect of too big of a speaker in too small of a room. Once they are opened up, they come alive. Have you looked at the RTA series line...like the 8's, 11's or 15TL's? I'd like to find a pair of the 15TL's myself.Richard? Who's your favorite Little Rascal? Alfalfa? Or is it........................Spanky?.................................Sinner.

For music, my 2b's were 100% better than my crs+'s. My 1b's sound incredible in a 12x9 room.

Thanks for the replys.
I am thinking that in some ways, the 2's might even be better. With the passive firing towards the front, they can probably be closer to the wall.
I am looking at an 11X13 space (which is open on one end) where they will be on one of the long walls. They will be about 6 feet apart and about 8 feet from me when I am in the seat of honour. Sadly, there is no other option for them in this room. -

That would work. If you need stands why use CRS's. Like you said the front firing PR is a plus.

Stands I have. The old Target welded four posts, so that is not an issue. Was just thinking the smaller size is a plus but maybe that is not a big deal.
Oddly, a friend has a pair of early crs's and a pair of ones and he says the crs's eat up the ones. By a lot. -
You should see if he'd let you borrow either or both to test in your own listening space. By the way, what type of amp are you going to use on them? All of the SDA's need a common ground amp.Richard? I like the idea of demoing the different models from your friend and seeing which sound best. There's no better way to know what works than listening.

I like the idea of trying them in my own room too, but sadly he is a few hundred miles away and on the wrong side of the border....
I have two different amps I could try with them: A Conrad Johnson MV-75A1 (75 very large tube watts per side)or a Carver m1.0t. From my understanding, both should be ok. Please correct me if I am missing something.
