Or at least that's what New Orleans Mayor has called it.

Hope it weakens and does not reach category 5. Thoughts and prayers for everyone in its path.

Based on what I have seen so far in the news coverage... It appears that a lot of people learned their lesson this time around and are on their way or have already left. There will still be a good % of people sticking around though.

I do hope they all get out.

I know its early, but it looks like the various levels of Government have learned some lessons from the past. They appear to be working together and handling this much more effectively...at least so far. We'll see when its over. If they do a good job, I hope they get at least a little bit of credit for the improvements, given the deserved criticism they got for **** it up so bad last time.

New Orleans.......I'll be the first to say it. It's looking like you are once again gonna get the worst of the hit from this storm. If the same thing happens, just fill the city with America's trash. Raise the level of the city to 40' ABOVE ground and then rebuild.

BTW, I would advise to everybody reading this that they fill up their gas tanks tonight. You know how those "futurists" are.

That said, may God bless all that are involved and I hope that a repeat of what happened with Katrina doesn't happen again when it come to human lives. I hope that folks learned their lesson last time. Good luck to all.

I don't wish to sound insensitive here, but if you know you live below sea level you are asking for trouble.

I've seen some video and photos of water lapping over the levees in the NO 9th Ward. Hopefully they'll hold.

If you cant bury your dead underground there may be a problem with where you are living. If you have to look up at the Mississippi River you may need to rethink your choice of living area.

I saw that if they catch anyone looting that they will put there butts in the big house. They dont get a stay at the city jail but in a fed prison. No ifs and or buts! What prison was that they were sayin? Angola?

If you live on a known geologic fault line in the Fremont CA area, you may need to rethink your choice of living area. ;););)
We deal with tornados and hail in NE, but they are tiny compared to hurricanes and earthquakes!

I was waiting on that one. :)

I dont live on a fault line. I am close to one though.

Let me say I would rather have a earthquake than a tornado anyday. A little tremor never hurt anyone but a tornado:eek:

Tremors last for 10 seconds mostly most allot less.
Tornados last a little longer and they cause some hella damage even the small ones.
Hurricanes, Typhoons last a whole bunch longer and can tear up the place even the small ones.

    :D

Well, now WE in the Carolinas get to see what Hanna is gonna do. Predicting landfall from Jax, to the outer banks somewhere between Thurs. night & Fri. morning.

Well i have power again. The storm did alot more damage than expected here and in B.R. N.O. didn't get much damage at all but the poweroutage across most of LA was 100% out.
Some won't have any juice for another 20-25 days they say.
We can't be out past 8pm are before 6am as of right now. Yesterday it was 6-6 but i guess more and more people are getting power online and such so it's less strict.
My self we didn't get any damage to anything just two trees down tons of limbs bigger than you can carry and alot of small ones coving both acres.
Should be a fun clean up haha.
