Someone has offered to swap his pristine B&W DM6's for those modified SDA-1A of mine. This model B&W is one of the few I haven't yet heard, as this person lives on the other side of town I want to get a quick heads up on what these speakers are like from the options of others.
The Polk SDA range of speakers is pretty thin this side of the planet and am a little cautious about releasing them as I have really taken to the way they project music. Would the B&W's be in the same league as the 1A's? Any advise would be appreciated!!

Hi, I would think that to get a clear idea of how the new speakers will suit you, you really need to audition them in YOUR listening room, connected to YOUR components. Hearing them under those conditions will give you your answer. Maybe you could agree to a long term "Honeymoon" period with an out clause if either of you decide you'd rather have your old speakers back.
    Good luck!:)gdb

Went and had a listen to the B&W DM6's, all I can say is that the modified 1A's are a lot better in many ways, the B&W's are just so flat and uninspiring. I suppose it just proved to myself finally that the Polks are good and that they are keepers.

I've never heard a B&W that didn't sound flat and uninspiring.

Every time I go out to hear new gear I come home and listen to my SDA's and I am happy. A few mods, and SDA's can really put out some nice sound:)
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks
