Just wanted to let you guys know that if you live near a Menards hardware store go check out the Monster cable deal they have. I just picked up 70ft of Monster cable ultra 600 THX certified speaker cable for $20 +TAX. I checked Best Buy out and it looks like they are selling 20ft. for $22 + tax. Just wanted to share this deal with you in case you are in need of some. I only had time to hook up one of my RTi 10's with it and honestly i can hear a difference. Higher highs and mids. very crisp and clear sound. i never thought the expensive stuff was that much better but i guess i was wrong. have a good weekend!

Why don't you make your post useful by educating the public how bad the MC is? (please cite some supportive evidence as well, so your post doesn't consider pointless) -

My ears are my supportive evidence. If mcs2000si is happy with his cable then God bless him. You will find that most here dislike Monster and all it stands for. -
While I don't fault the OP for trying to pass on a good deal, I would recommend using the search feature here on the forums to cite all of the horrible reviews and horrible publicity that Monster Cable has received. Then, based on that, you can make your decision. My HT

OK, we understand the problem. Now, for us newbies, what is the solution? What brand or brands of cable(particularly HDMI) that I don't have to take out a second mortgage for, do you reccommend?

I wired my HT with Monster Cable. Love it._________________________________________________

ha ha ha; that is right. Besides, I have no plans of replacing cable that's wired through a wall frame. No matter how bad it might be!!!!!!_________________________________________________

I don't know if they are. Even if they are what's your point? Not only is Bob Carver a very intelligent designer, but he is also a very smart business man;) The general population is impressed by the M's products(like Bose). Do you think that marketing didn't have anything to do with that decision?
Thanks

didn't you say "EF Monster cable(s)" My Point is Mr Ben(you are my elder i'm only 16,forgive me God) since the carver mono blocks are wire with Monster cable (it says it on the back) and the monster cables are bad wouldn't that affect the sonic details of the amp.... Well as I'm writing this I can recall reeltrouble1 saying he got rid of his Carvers because of the grain/harsh in the highs at loud volume Levels .I believe that it was the CD he was playing and not the carvers. There's not too many good recorded CD's out there. Most CD's That I have heard from the 80's Thu the 1990's are harsh/grain sounding. That's the reason I buy Audiophile Gold or HDCD CD's. Why spend too much money on cables? I have to admit I Paid $300 for my MITtTerminator speaker cable and that's high for me Especially when I could have paid less than half of that price with the same results mmmm Maybe. after having said all that I do believe that MIT are Better than Monster cable.it could be the looks of the MIT(Shotgun) why I like them better maybe not the sound at all. You guys are the pros..... I'm going to do a key word thread search on monster cables and read what you guys had to say about them. That's all I used is monster cable interconnect mostly.
P.S I listen to reeltrouble1 turntable and it sounded just as good as his super Audio Cd Player.Maybe it was the cables he was using just a big maybe.
Enjoy your music

Using less than a foot total of nearly any wire isn't going to kill the sound. Again it's a label for marketing;)
