Fry's Electronics has just recently marked down their HD-DVD stock AGAIN to get rid of the remainder and their remainder is still like 1000 copies of most of the titles out their. I was shopping there and I think each HD-DVD was under $8. pretty cool.....

$8 for a dead format, no thanks.

Yeah, I was thinking the exact same thing; but I also though that if I had a large enough collection of them it might be nice. I wouldn't do it though; but there are those that might, especially since the XBOX 360's HD-DVD attachment unit is only $40 there as well.

If you have a player and want the title-who cares if its a so-called dead format? Its still HD. And just because HD-DVD lost the war did not mean that it was inferior to BR. And at a fraction of the cost of BR right now for some titles. How many $8 BR titles are out there-
Heck $8 is cheaper than some SD titles.
I rather watch an $8 HD-DVD title than pay $7 or whatever the cost is for a VOD from the cable company with no extras and only 24 hours to watch.

I've amassed a huge collection of desired HD-DVD titles-most of them less than $11 ea NEW.

The only bummer with HD-DVD right now is that nothing new will be coming out on it-but again if there is somethgin that you desire and either dont have a BR player yet or don't want to pay the top dollar for a BR version...I say go for it.
