* Power Output: 13Wx2
* Frequency Response: 20 Hz – 20 kHz (+/-1.5 dB)
* Harmonic Distortion: 0.5%
* Signal-To-Noise Ratio: 86 dB
* Input Impedance: 100 K
* Output Impedance: 4 ohm, 8 ohm
* Tube complement: 2 x 6N1 (ECC85); 1 x 6E2 (EM87)

I hardly used it. I can't find a single scratch on it, or chip. I bought it to try out tubes. It was hooked to my PC for a little while. I used it with monitor 5's, and also for a tube headphone amp. Another thing I did was use the headphone out as a tube buffer. I was going to mod it as a tube Pre, but I need the money more than I need a tube buffer.
$110 plus shipping. I have the original box, and the accessories that came with the amp. I do not have the dock.
Thanks
Ben

Edit: The HCT is a clone of the FatMan tube amp

    If the amp could talk it would probably be screaming "save me from the soldering iron in the background". You guys know how I am about modding!
    Thanks

    I have one of thse and actually like it. If you've got some really efficient speakers this will mate with them quite nicely.

    so... the power outputs on these things must be solid state, given that the ECC85 is a twin triode (for use in FM front ends) and the EM87 is a "magic eye" signal strength indicator tube (cathode ray display tube) :-P

    Yes. It is a tube integrated. For those not really into tubes it means that the tubes handle the line level to drive the SS amp. The center tube as stated is basically a power meter. When the two bars touch each other it means you have maxed out.

    FWIW, a 'Hybrid' would probably be a more accurate description. Integrated just indicates that it's a preamp and amp integrated into one unit. A tube Integrated could mean a tube front end and tube amp, or a tube front end and ss amp (as in the case here), so from the title 'tube integrated' alone one wouldn't necessarily be able to know what it is.

    It's just a matter of semantics, but wanted to add that clarifying point...

    A "tube integrated" is an integrated amp with (nothing but) vacuum tubes in it. A Fisher X-101 is a tube integrated amp (OK, the bias supply rectifiers are solid state).

    P1020673.jpg

    The amp in question is a hybrid, like a McIntosh MC-230 ('cept the MC-230 has a ss preamp and tube outputs). http://www.roger-russell.com/amppre.htm#ma230

    Some of these Chinese-made "Vincent" things are tube/ss hybrids with tubes in the preamp and solid state outputs.

    VINCSV236B_000.JPG

    EDIT: oops, I take that back. the X-101 has vacuum tube rectification; it's not fixed-bias.

    Well even though it was quite flattering I figured that shorts were more appropriate:eek:

    If we want to get totally technical about it... It is a Hybrid vacuum tube integrated amp listed as a tube amp:D

    yepper. I think it's a pretty cool little package, too.
    Just wonder why they stopped at 13 wpc; they could've made it arbitrarily powerful with SS output modules.

    Didn't they make this part of a package with an Ipod interface and a set of speakers?

    I believe my friend bought this setup and called to tell me about it.
    He loved it and still does very much

    Yes this was part of a system that came with 3 boxes. The Ipod dock, speakers, and the amp. I gave the Ipod dock to a friend. The speakers are not worth shipping, and I have the amp still. I was going to use it for my puter system, but I need the money more than good tunes on a PC. It does work very good as a monitor 5/7 amp, or a headphone amp.
    Thanks

    I gotta tell ya, I have this amp hooked up in my office at work-Until recently I had it hooked up to a pair of Polk Atrium 45s (until I get around to mounting them on the front porch), and it sounds half decent.

    What I didn't expect was how good a set of LSi9's would sound on this thing. I actually didn't think it woudl drive them at all being 4 ohm hard to drive speakers.
    I'm strictly talking lower volume here (which is about all I can do in the office anyway-paper thin walls), but damn it sounds good-the bass that the LSi9s are pumping out is fantastic. All from a 13wpc low end tube integrated/hybrid amp thingey.

    Simply Awesome

    This woulda looked real sweet sitting on my desk at work driving my r15's. Too bad I didn't see it beforehand. not that I have any money for more toys anyway. Sounds like it would've sounded better than my old JVC receiver I'm using now... not that it does a bad job... it's all low-volume listening anyway.

    Glad you're enjoying it madden. :)

    Einstein, this forum really shouldn't be treated like a work in progress. It has been in existence for at least 10 years, and the rules were created some time ago. It is not a place where you can come and try to exercise what you must feel is a god-given right to disrespect everyone and everything.

    But don't stop on my account. Watching you come here and try to circumvent the rules, and even ask others to circumvent the rules in order to put a few bucks in your pocket is amusing.

    Patrick?
