Lsi9 on outlaw monoblock vs Model 7200

Hello, I've been actually been reading all over in the forums and finally decided to get the LSi9s. however, the receiver is way to weak and it wont take it 140 watts 8ohms Yamaha.
Here's what I plan, or what I really want to do.
1. monoblocks and keep adding until I have a full set of LSi Speakers for home Theator/Music.
Reason: I don't have a lot of cash but I want stuff right away... , freedom to move them around is also great.

The Model 200 and Model 2200 were the same except that the Model 2200 added balanced inputs and looks like our current generation of electronics. That said, the Model 7200 is an entirely different design, utilizing a pure Class AB circuit topology.
Here's my Question:
1. I saw in the this forum that Class G has Distortion from switching or something like that. Although THD is .05%, does it really effect the sound compared to the AB?
2. In terms of Audio/Sound (7200 vs 2200) has anybody heard any difference?
3. Is THD really important or is there something else that also needs to be considered? From Wiki ex. makes the sound more "real" say a violin sounds more like a violin.
Note: Any more info on amplifiers difference technically and sound would be very helpful
I only got into Home Theator with a new system with a pair of RTi3 with a Velo DLS-5000R and currently beats the crap of my old logitech z5500.
haha system is about 1 week old and I already not satisfied ever since I keep seeing ppl posting about how the LSi9 sounds.
Thx for Help! ^_^;

Before I bought my Sunfire amp, I called Outlaw and they turned me away from the monoblock (for what reasons I've forgot). But they was try'n their hart's out to get me to buy their 7 channel amp.
I wish I could remember their reason for not wanting me to get 7 of their monoblocks but they was adamant about it.

How many wpc is your amp? I want to get at least a large amount of performance from the LSi9. THD on outlaws is .05%, I still don't know which to pick.... mono or if it is worth it to get the full 7 in 1 shot because my receiver for sure isn't gonna run it well.
Nice setup btw. -

Once I went mono block on my 2 channel, I'll never go back to a multi channel amp. The seperation is just killer. I also like the idea of not splitting the power supply like a multi does. I want all the watts I paid for and not split and divided depending on needs of the system.
I have a 5 channel amp for my HT and it serves the purpose. IF I had the room to put 5 mono's I probably would.

If you have enough outlets to run 7 mono's go for it. If not get a 7channel & be done with it. Most THD specs are way below what we can hear anyway so I don't worry about it.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2

Do you think the sound Quality will be the same? Anyone know? 0.o

All amplifiers are supposed to do is boost the signal being transmitted. I had a Outlaw mono & that is exactly what it did. It made my center channel come alive.
I couldn't detect any difference in the quality of the sound when I upgraded to the amp I have currently.
The amp just insures that my speakers are operating to their full potential.Marantz AV-7705 PrePro, Classé 5 channel 200wpc Amp, Oppo 103 BluRay, Rotel RCD-1072 CDP, Sony XBR-49X800E TV, Polk S60 Main Speakers, Polk ES30 Center Channel, Polk S15 Surround Speakers SVS SB12-NSD x2 -

In my opinion, no. I'm a firm believer in that mono's sound better. Here's why: Each amp has its own power supply. Whether it is 100-1000 watts, it is its own. In a multi, there is normally only one power supply which all the channels basically share except for a very few. It can come down to a rob peter to pay paul within the amp. Also, which I noted before, signal seperation is absolute in monos. While multi's take precautions to avoid mixing the signals, it can happen. Don't get wrong, there are some stellar multi's on the market that perform very, very well.

That's great...........except you failed to take into account the amp topology. I'd take a Class A 2-ch amp over a class G mono anytime, anywhere.
I am not a fan o switching type amps. That said Outlaw makes a quality product that will get the job done. There is a whole lot to understand about amp design and topologies which is way beyond the scope of this thread.
There are 100's of threads about amps/lsi's/design/class/manufacturer's, etc. somewhere in the archives. Start searching and do your homework. All have benefits/drawbacks.
I'm a 2-ch guy who enjoys very simple straight forward designs. That works for me; maybe not your cup of tea.
YMMV

Your absolutely right and I stand corrected. I incorrectly assumed we were comparing apples to apples.

Is G really that bad? Since its a AB too, how much is most of the time its going to be in that area. I don't crank volumes crazy high. But I guess the volume is close to that of a movie theator little more/less depending on what I feel like, in a normal living room. There are 100's of threads about amps/lsi's/design/class/manufacturer's, etc. somewhere in the archives. Amps get very expensive when they start going over 300watts @ 4ohms. So I'm sorta sticking with outlaw for now as sorta "entry equipment" Seems like their great bang for the buck all over the place. Of course I'm always looking at other stuff as well.
outlaw audio FAQQ. Any other specifics?
A. The Model 200 utilizes a newly designed (and proprietary) hybrid Class A/B/G circuit. It will provide Class A/B power up to 80 watts (which covers about 98% of most listening situations). Above 80 watts the Model 200 will instantly shift into Class G amplification.
Knowing that the LSi9 uses a lot of power, would I be actually using less then 80% in real life? Considering the volume and speakers. The reason I'm asking is because different speakers draw a different amount of power....So I'm just a little skeptical about the 98%
The Signal separation sounds good too, actually I never ran into a thread that said anything like that. XD
Thanks for helping, I know I sound like a noob =P -

My Sunfire is said to be able to push 400wpc @ 8ohms, 800wpc @ 4 ohms and 1600 wpc @ 2ohms<--- Limited time basis only.
