I am looking for a subwoofer cable and saw some monster subwoofer cable for 80% off the regular price. So basically they are the same price as monoprice cables. I know everyone here dislike monster cable because they are overpriced, but for the same price, is monster cable as good as the monoprice cable? Thanks

Their cables aren't really bad but they are horribly overpriced. But if you find them cheap they're probably worth it!

I vote no and I used a monster cable for my sub for a couple of years. Scratching the upgrade itch I put an Audioquest sub cable in it's place. What I noticed was compared to the AQ the Monster cable had a very bloated/muddy kind of sound to it. Where the Audioquest was much more balanced and articulate. In the end it's up to you to decide but I know how I voted.

Heck if you don't mind a cable that is a couple of years old and a little dirty you can have it, I think it's 12' long but I would need to check that. And that's more than 80% off :).

Wow, I thought Monster cable is just overpriced, I did not realize that they are such a bad company. I guess Monster is a no for me.

but I still have a few questions. Monster subwoofer cable is the only subwoofer cable that I auditioned before. That was in my friend's house and I thought it was not bad if I can get it for under $10. That's why I use it as a reference to ask questions here. So do you think for the same price, monoprice.com cables are equally as good? If so, I will just buy from them.

MADGSF, thank you very much for your offer. I read some posts here and some said subwoofer cables do not make that much of a difference. If I have a budget of $50 to 100, can you or someone else suggest a better cable? Thanks

I'm using a monoprice cable and I haven't noticed any problems. I know its not the optimum cable but works fine for me.

As for making a difference, in the end only you can decide that but I thought it wsa better.

Here is the cable I bought http://www.audioadvisor.com/prodinfo.asp?number=AQSUBX&variation=2

Wish I had bought the 3M length as since I moved I now have the room to move the sub farther. I am very happy with this cable.

I just looked at the tags. Do just a little research on MC's lawsuit history. If you stick up for MC after just a little research then you should be slapped, and sterilized.
    Thanks

an update: just bought a monoprice cable, figure I can try some more expensive ones later

BTW, nobody try to let the public know how bad monster cable is as a company. I think they sell pretty well in bestbuy or circuitcity based on my previous observations.

I got some discounted MC. I later got a good deal on AQ when Magnolia
shops cleared them out. AQ stomps MC. And my Kimber beat AQ.
Bottom line-If it's cheap, ok. If its full price, move on.
