Up for sale is my GFA-535. There are "a few" modifications, which may detract from the price. I'm going to be perfectly honest in my description, as best I know this amp.

I purchased it, I think two years ago, to drive my SDA 2's. It's done a wonderful job, but I'd like to upgrade to the 545 that's for sale in the flea market now.

The 535 is rated for 60wpc, but I can tell you that it drives large speakers like the original SDA 2's with ease.

Now, to the modifications... I have disconnected the speaker selector switches. I was having problems with them, because the contacts internally in the switches were corroded. This was leading to channels cutting out and some static. What I did was cut the wires and solder them directly together to circumvent the switch. I only did this for the "A" channel, so right now the "B" channel is inoperative. This wasn't a problem for me because I only have one set of speakers. I did contact Adcom, and the switches were available from them, for I believe $50.

Also, I upgraded the RCA jacks to gold plated jobbies from Parts Express. I don't know that it made a difference, but it made me feel better...

Price is $100 + actual shipping.

Help me upgrade, eh? :D

Pictures will be on their way later today.

PRICE DROPPED TO $75 + Shipping. I forgot how many cosmetic problems this thing has. Also, I've had the amp for 3 years, not two. It's been driving my SDA2's and has never clipped or gone into thermal protection. Here's some pics so you can see the overall condition:

    Overall

    100_4410.sized.jpg
The top has lots of scratches, which I had forgotten about because it sits on a shelf, I can't see the top, and it doesn't effect the sound :)

Rear connections, including the PE RCA jacks I installed.

    100_4413.sized.jpg
The rear corner by the power cord seems to have suffered some sort of blow. I do remember seeing this when I received it from eBay, but had forgotten about it in the interim.

    Another shot of the corner.

    100_4415.sized.jpg
    The guts.

    100_4416.sized.jpg
Showing the clipped leads off the speaker selection board which are wired together, making the "A" channel active all the time, and the "B" channel unusable.

    100_4418.sized.jpg
The tops of the selection switches cracked. The switches themselves are shot. Last I checked with Adcom they were still available to be purchased if you so desire. I never felt limited by only having one set of outputs.

Detail of the new RCA jacks I installed.

I paid $145 for this from eBay when I got it. I paid WAY too much! My loss is your gain, as those car salesmen say...

Listen, I know she's not a beauty queen, but it still sounds just fine. I'll be in Philly this weekend if anyone in that area wants it... save ya on shipping.
