Tiger Woods 09

So I think finally EA Sports has got this game right. It has a little bit of everything, and anyone....I mean anyone can play this game. It is a lot more easier than Tiger 08. I was half way through 08 and just could not finish it, it just got way to difficult. I finished my first FedEx Cup tourney today and I shot a 35 under par, so I know I need to ramp up the difficulty. In 08 I would never even come close to that score.

What I like most about the game is the Live/online portion of it. It is a quick paced game reminiscent of Xbox's first golf game Links. If anyone played Links on the original Xbox then you know what I am talking about. Basically when playing a online game, you hit the ball, along with your foursome at the same time. You do not see your fousome play at all, you will see is lines in the sky showing their shots. If you finish the whole before anyone else, then you will actually see the players finish up the hole. Playing a round of 18 holes takes about 20 minutes. It only took 6 years for EA to implement this but it is a very very nice feature.

They are also implementing a point feature that gives your gamerscore points as you play. I am not sure how this works, but I think you can add your own gamer score points to the mix through Live. I have yet to really check out that feature. One example is you are on the 18th hole at St. Andrews, and you will see a black arrow pointing to the ground at about 300 yards out, with someones name attached to it (I am assuming the Xbox Live gamer Tag). If your drive passes that 300 yard marker you receive 35 gamer score points. Now what you can do with those points I have no clue. Same thing with your approach shot, you will see a white circle around the pin, if your ball lands within the white circle you get those points.

Great game for golf fans, a solid 8.5 out of 10.

Is it much improved over previous years? Although I'm a big fan, I find that in recent years past I buy it the week it comes out and only get a few weeks of enjoyment out of it b/c it so close to the one from last year. Just thought I would ask before I buy it again...

I like it alot better than 08. I like the new attribute system always going up and down depending on how you shoot. you can also tune your clubs for sweet spot, slices, fade, and so on.

By far the best version this generation yet. Fortunately I know two people who work for EA so I get the games for $20 and Tiger '09 is WELL worth that price but certainly worth $60 as well.
