Ok,
I may be a bit crazy at this point, but I'm selling both of my current Blu-Ray players (BD10A, BD30) and my beloved Toshiba HD-XA2 player.
Why? Price on the LG Dual Format player has finally dropped to where I think its worth getting. My wife would prefer one player and so would I. I simply have too many HDDVDs to give upon the format though.
So, here they are for grabs. Photos will be added tomorrow when I can get decent lighting.
Panasonic DMP-BD10A Blu-ray player. This was Panny's first player, but it really was a 2nd generation player. Panny waited and did things right. This is a solid built player that has 7.1 analog outs and decodes DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD. It has never given me any playback problems and it has one of the most bug free reputations over at AVS forum.
Ok, here are some things this one doesn't do: It won't send 1080p/24. However, it is one of the only players that actually does 1080p/60 correctly and deinterlaces properly. It does a very good job upconverting and deinterlacing SD DVD as well and is probably only 2nd to the Reon/Realta/QDEO equipped players. I also won't decode DTS-HD Master. It will send the Core DTS though. It also won't bitstream the new codecs (True HD/DTS-HD). It decodes them internally and sends them via LPCM Multichannel.
So, who would want this player?
Someone that doesn't have a 24p capable TV
Someone who doesn't have an AV receiver that can decode TrueHD/DTS-HD.
Someone who has a receiver that has 7.1 analog inputs and/or HDMI input (but can't decode TrueHD).
I'm sure there are quite a few of ya.
Condition: Bought as an open box in the spring. Nearly perfect. A few smudges on the top that I suspect came from the silly display card that was stuck on it in the box. Front perfect. Very low hours of play time. This was a bedroom unit and probably only played back 10-15 movies. No original box. The remote is Panasonic, but not the original for this unit. It does control all the major functions though. Clean printed copy of the owners manual. Firmware 2.4 installed. There is a 2.5 that just came out, but I haven't upgraded to it yet. I'll include my receipt for warranty purposes. I think the 1-year is up in March or April.
Price $220+actual shipping.
Next up,
Panasonic DMP-BD30 Bluray player The best all around player for those who have 24p displays and HDMI receivers that can decode TrueHD/DTS-HD Master. Bug free, lastest 2.2 firmware. Quick operation. Flawless playback of bluray.
I will be honest: This player is not the best SD upscaling player. It is decent, but far outclassed by the Reon or ABT equipped players.
Bought new in box last winter. Best Buy 4-year extended warranty included. Prefect condition. Relatively low hours. Includes box/manual/warranty slip/reciept/original remote. Box has UPC cutout for rebate.
The warranty adds quite a bit of value IMO.
Price $250+shipping.
Last, but not least,
Toshiba HD-XA2 HD-DVD player
Well known to be the best HD-DVD player ever made. It has the Silicon Optix Reon processor for superior SD-DVD upscaling and picture control. Tank like build quality with thick aluminum front plates, top plate, and side panels. The remote has aluminum panels too.
Perfect Condition, like new, low hours. Original box/manual/remote. This was sent to me by Toshiba back in March as a warranty replacement for my original. It was a brand spankin new one. Box has UPC cutout. Sorry I had to try and get the rebate.
This unit still has firmware 2.7 installed. This has been determined to be the best firmware for 24p display users. If you have a 60p display, I'd upgrade to the newer 3.0 firmware.
These are still pretty sought after for their upscaling capability and build quality. Price $275+actual shipping.

Panny BD10A. No original box, but I'll do it right and pack it to withstand the rigors of shipping.
It would be mint, but there are some adhesive smudges on the top panel. Panny went crazy and mounted these large display/info tags at the factory.

I forgot to mention, the BD10A also does DVD-A, making it one of a few BluRay players, if not the only, to have this function. For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...
