How to connect a mixer to sing karaoke with onkyo receiver TX-SR605

Hello everyone, i just bought a cheap Yamaha MG10/2 mixer along with an Onkyo 605 receiver. i hope that you guys can show me how to hook it up.. I have never done this before. I tried to used the RCa to connect to the receiver but not sure why i didn't get any sounds to the microphone.. Is there a simple step to this??? Thanks..

    Receiver's tape out to mixer's input. Out from mixer to reciever's tape input.
    I think he's trying to connect the Mixer to the Onkyo receiver, not the receiver to the Yamaha mixer. Just connect one of the RCA outs (like Rec Out) on the mixer to a line input on the receiver (like Aux 1, CD, etc)
