Looking to upgrade speakers
Hi All,
You can see from my signature what I am working with. I am looking at upgrading my speakers from these Infinity Qe's to something about the same size but a bit more sensitive. I really have to pump up the watts to get these to work properly.
I'm looking for a damn good 2 way. Say 90 - 95db/w/m and can handle 100 watts plus
Any suggestions?

Do you have a specific budget?
I the Monoitor or TSi series are the easiest current-model polks to drive (Maybe R series as well). Apparantly the RTi4 and RTi6 speakers are pretty easy to drive as well but i think all of them are around 89 or 90 db sensitive. Any higher level polks (RTi towers or LSI) will be harder to drive.KEF Q150 | Rythmik F12 | Yamaha Aventage RX-A780 -
Welcome to the forum. Yes, a budget will help us to help you..~ In search of accurate reproduction of music. Real sound is my reference and while perfection may not be attainable? If I chase it, I might just catch excellence. ~

Try a few Klipsch bookselves for high sensitivity:
Klipsch RB-81 at 97db/1m
Klipsch WB-14 at 92db/1m
Klipsch B-3 at 93.5db/1m -
Guess I should have added a budget. Thanks for telling me
Im looking at anything from 300.00 to 500.00 a pair.
I am also thinking of using my SA-9500II that is rated at 80w/ch at 8ohm and 100w in 4 ohms as a preamp and adding a power amp. Im thinking something in the 175 to 250 watt at 8 ohms area. I know the Pioneer Spec 4 and Spec 2 would fit the bill but damn they want some big dollars for those as they are highly collected.
These old Infinity Qe's dont wake up till around half volume there efficiency is 89db@1W/mhttp://www.billbeau.net

I like the Polks but those Klipsch are damn nice. I need to audition some. Gots find some local.
The Spec 4 for 425 is a bit on the high side then adding shipping is just a bit out of range for a 150 watt power amp. The M25 is a nice amp also but once again a bit pricey and with shipping its just too much. I'll wait for something to come up local. They come up on Craigs List now and then.http://www.billbeau.net
