ok so i have my lsi15's, lsic, lsifx, and psw1000. They are all connected to my sony3300es which has 7.1 pre outs. Im looking to connect a seperate amp and im looking for suggestions as to the best amp that i can get for the setup i have without spending extra money one features that my setup cannot accomadate. Also i dont know weather i want a 5 channel or 7 channel amp. I know my receiver can matrix 5.1 singals to 7.1 through hdmi, ut i am unsure if it can through the analouge connections. This is a concern for me because i have heard that with high end compenents (specifically blu-ray players) this is the more desired option. Please correct me if i am wrong, and any imput is greatly appreciated.

My vote is (SUNFIRE) all the way. But that is what I have at the moment. I love mine, It made the worlds difference from try'n to run my LSi system off that puny Sony receiver.

Ditto, but again it depends on your budget. The Sunfire 200 or 400~7 can be had used for between $800 & $2200, depending on which model you want & how patient you are :D

I think it's the best amp value (versatility/sound/etc.) on the planet~

Emotiva has a real good amp on the cheap.
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

I am a big Sunfire fan, and have two of their amps, a 5200 and a 7200. The feature I like is the auto on when it senses a signal, as well as the fact that it hardly heats up at all. I did have one problem with my 7200 and Sunfire took care of it even out of warranty. Several forum members got a good deal here. Call them and offer them $100 less than they want to sell it to you for.

That being said, there are plenty of good amps for less money. Emotiva is a good deal for a ton of horses.

Most dealers sell 25% under list.

Here's a look inside the MC-126, a older and smaller version of that unit: http://www.cleanandquiet.com/upload/store/MC126a.jpg

I agree, if his budget would allow, go for it.

Good to know. I usually press my dealer for 15% mid-priced gear (~700-1500$) but for pricey equipment like that 25% would be a nice break.

No sooner do I brag about Sunfire than tonight my 7200 started smoking (this after being fixed a few months ago for free). It still works but this cannot be good. I am talking about quite a bit of friggin smoke.

let me show you my little F*ck up! Mine cough on fire but I think it was my fault. I was re-arranging my rack and when I undid my speaker cables that had spayed connectors when I re-installed them I believe (Due to me having to reinstall them in a tight space and not able to see worth a crap) I may have hooked them back up with two of the channels touching. BAD SHANNON! But this is what mine looked like after the fire put itself out. :(

I was lucky I still had 4 years worth of warranty but I still had to ship that heavy SOB back to them and that was $130 and then it took them 10 weeks to get it back to me. I was going crazy. I just had my back operated on and my plasma was in the shop getting the main board replaced and I was watching TV on my little 24" Sony Vega. and had no audio. I got the amp back just in time for me to return to work. :(
When I did get my amp back I found out they upgraded all seven channel to new specs and replaced a bunch of other stuff. I even had them send me the test sheet on how many wpc my amp produced. I was shocked to see the #'s it put out. Then I was sold on Sunfire for life. Their customer service is top notch! I rank it up there with Polk's C.S.!

This will be my first post so please excuse if this ground has been covered before. Looking for processor & amp as well. LSi15's, LSic, LSi7's (thinking about adding LSif/x's for side). Now going to seperates from Denon 1705AVR that I think is underpowered. Opinions... Go for latest edition of some brand new equipment or used (or demo) of past generation without bells and whistles of McIntosh gear. Budget is 1-3k for each component. If new gear is the choice, what's the best match in that price range. I also don't especially go for big bang sounds and loud crashes, looking for good clean sound. Hope not to long-winded, thanks for your help. Looks like a great site.
