Tonight is my first night coaching my new U17 girls soccer team (14,15,16 yr olds)

I was going to be a spectator this year, but I was asked to take a team at the last minute. I haven't even seen my roster yet.

This should be interesting tonight.

This is the best team I've ever started out with. I have speed, skill, depth, and attitude in abundance.

my Asst coach drafted this team without any real help. I couldn't have done better myself.

What region do you play for River? We play in region 837, and I know our girls team is top notch. The coach has them doing thing I could only wish I could get my 14 year old boys to do. Very disciplined team. If you play them you will have to play very smart to beat them. In fact I am sure they won the City playoffs last year.

My son is playing u17 boys and his team is very good also. He looks like a boy among men on that team.

    Region 206

Your U17 girls A team took 2nd in the area tourney last year. They lost in the finals in a shootout to our A team that knocked us out of the semi's by beating us in a shootout. We ended up 3rd in the tourney.

I've gone to clinics and coached against both of last years U17g teams coaches. They're both good coaches.

Now that I know you coach in 837, I probably shouldn't say anymore about my team now. ;)

Oh, and last year, my U17 girls had this thing about wanting to scrimmage our u17 boys team. I could never figure that one out.:D

Nah I dont coach anymore. I help out. But my 13 year old son decided to go with golf instead of soccer this year. My oldest boy plays u17 and they wanted me to coach but I never did the u17 coaching clinic. So that was out.

And my bad about the city tourney, but it was the u14 girls that took it. But I think that coach is now u17. And I noticed that you guys play at Aurthur Pack. Is your region doing the shortened season where you will play two games a week, so that all the kids can play high school ball? And PM me and let me know if you guys come down to Sahuarita to play, and I will make sure and be there.

Yeah, we play the short season, two games a week. I live about 5 mins from AP so it's a great home field. Oh, and I had a couple of weaker girls drop out, and my new players they added made me even better.:D

18 girls though, it's like trying to herd cats.

If I would've had this team for my travel team last spring we would've done some serious tourney damage.

I'll PM you and let you know whan we play down there.
