I sold The Shark today. It was tough. Nice kid that's got an '89 (nice, but not enough chrome and extras for my taste) took it away. I don't think he was expecting much, but when that thing EXPLODED into high idle with that boss grumble, I think the '89 became his second car right then and there. The Gray Shark didn't ignite like The Shark. It was a very pleasant car that was in magnificent condition, but had very little flair. The Shark was the ultimate Guidomobile and I enjoyed, no I REVELED in that look for 12 great years. A snow white, '87 Caprice LS Brougham with special Guido light package, Guido wheels, and total Guido interior. I can't believe there weren't clear plastic-slipcovers over the seats when I got it, in a tribute to true Guido home decor. Or a couple heavy sconces. So long my friend, and join those that served before you. Those like The Green Mamba, the piece of **** '67 MG Midget that was my first car. I had no idea what pieces of **** English sports cars were until I got rid of that thing and got... The Chief, a MAGNIFICENT jet black '63 Bonneville. The indicator for the high beams was a blue silhouette of indian Chief Pontiac. The Chief. Then there were the Cut Loose's, two Olds Cutlasses. A '67 "S", and a '71 Supreme, both with the 350 Rockets. Great cars. Then The Hindenberg, an ill-fated '71 T-Bird. And of course, The Gray Shark, '86 Caprice Brougham.

I hope all the members here that traversed a few miles in her with me have fond memories of the ride.

Dammit George! You just gave CL35 another idea for a thread. "List all the cars you've had and why you hated/loved them."

Seriously though, sounds like a couple really awesome cars. Had a few similar ones - ('71 green Cutlas 442 comes to mind).

A picture of Capt. Beefheart & The Magic Band, or The Shark?

Somewhere in the Polk archives are a few pictures of Doro, F1nut, and me leaning on The Shark right before we hopped in and went for a few slices.

Yeah Dave, I guess you're right.

BlueMDPicker and Hearingimpared rode in The Shark. I think Russman toured South Jersey with me in her. Troy rode in her. Nadams rode in her. Ah the memories. I think The Lovely Wendi rode in her and I didn't want to let her out. Ah, the memories.

No talk Shark. Shark talk with forked-tongue!

We saw the same Magic Band. I saw the '72 version also at Town Hall in New York. That lunatic Rockette Morton came out on the stage by himself first, and was playing a guitar/bass kind of thing. He didn't have to play bass in that version of the band cause Roy Estrada was there. Anyhow, during this "intro" that he played for about 5 or 10 minutes at suck the wind out of your chest magnitude, he bounced, ran, slid, backflipped, and spasmed through the whole thing. Did that happen at your show? What a virtuoso, and what a freakin' lunatic. Good looking boy too.

They both had pin-striping, and for the last couple years, I had a rubber Rat Fink head with flames trailing it mounted on the antenna of The Shark. When you were doing about 55 or 60 the antenna bowed back just so. One of the guys at work gave it to me.

    Thanks Shack-Daddy

In forumspeak...dorokusai, George Grand, F1Nut. That's a family photo as far as I'm concerned.

George is a fashion statement with the tucked in shirt sans belt.

You know a follow up photo shot of the three of you doing a little soft shoe on the blacktop would be a great.

GG I remember that Chief, not being so noble to have a Bonnie ours was sportin in a Blue Metallic 63 Cat.

I do however have a good Bonnie story to share with you sometime.

GG - I have to agree, most of today's cars lack soul and personality! I used to have a '79 Ford F150 4x4 that I named Martha, because that truck had the personality of a friend named Martha (and also the John Cougar song!). Martha went 326,000 miles before she couldn't go anymore. More stuff good and bad happened to me while I was driving that truck, then any other vehicle I'll probably ever own.

OH! Like you're not escorted to the border of most countries you impose yourself upon.

Taking a limo to the airport, sir, is not being escorted to the border, notwithstanding that minor incident in Belgium last year. I'm truly happy you finally have a car that you can see over the steering wheel without a booster seat.
