I can't post for sale since I do not have enough posts... Anyhow - Original owner of a pair of RTA 12A purchased 7/14/1981 and maintained since. Have original receipt, sales brochure and instruction manual but no boxes. Original everything, base, tophats, etc. Some vinyl pulling from stands, cabinet like new except for one little gash side/rear. Front grills like new. Like a member of the family but time for someone else to enjoy as much as I have over the last 27 years.... Dots on first picture is camera not speaker. Local pickup in North Texas - Grapevine... Small adoption fee just to ensure they go to a good home...

How much is the small adoption. That would help to know in advance. :D

Did it occur to you that there is a very good reason you can't post?

I got to admit. This was a creative one. But, still likely to be out of bounds.

Perhaps someone can explain the 25 minimum post reason.... I can understand having zero posts and spamming the site for ads but 25 seems high...
Tough crowd.. I meant no harm just don't have a lot to say... I've been a member for a long time and go back to Polk's beginning days so I'm old..

The 25 post requirement is there to stop people from just coming on to sell their stuff & then drop out again. It is there to protect this community.

In other words, if you want to sell your speakers here, you must REALLY be a part of this community.

Otherwise, feel free to go to Ebay or Audiogon.

I know rules are rules and all, but I think we're being a bit hard on this one. I mean, if you look back at his other posts, he has been around a long time and IMO, his intentions are good: He's interested in finding someone who'll actually appreciate the speakers he's cared for for a long time. I see the difference in this situation and that in which people just pop in here to sell gear because they think this forum gives them the best shot at moving it.

That's just my opinion, but I don't think M12RTA is who we're trying to protect the community from. Nothing really wrong with not having a lot to say.....I would cut him some slack if it were up to me.

I'm going to borrow Cathy's words because they hit the nail on the head.

In other words, if you want to sell your speakers here, you must REALLY be a part of this community.

IMO, the post count to sell here should be increased to 100.

Well that's easy enough-just reply to any CL35 post-you'll have 100 posts in no time. :D IMHO I don't think a post count limit protects anyone.

I've seen several of those post **** sellers randomly posting to spread thier word or prepare for a sale just to get post counts up-this does not appear to be that kind. As mentioned his account has been in place for some time-most of the spammers will setup a new account for that stuff.
I think that the forum members should just give each seller individual scrutiny.

I have mixed feelings on this one.

It's local pickup so nobody is getting ripped off.
These are speakers he has had for a long time.
He didn't join yesterday to pimp some product.
I think he would rather have them go to someone who loves Polk's.
He did knowingly side step the rules.
Rules are rules. Making exceptions is not a good idea.

    Good Day!
Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Again I'm sorry - I have been viewing this website and a member for 5 years... I am looking for a good home for something I have been close to for a long time.. I don't add a lot of comments because I'm not a rebuilder, technical nor a collector.. I did post here looking for someone who would really enjoy these speakers as I have and not to just turn them over and resell. At my current post count I would have to wait 20 additional years.. I can certaintly do Craig's list and I am not in a rush. I just moved them over the weekend and thought to myself why not ask around.. My other speakers are Polk 5jr and Dalhquist 5's and my grown kids have no interest in this stuff and seem to be happy with a clock-radio and an ipod. A few months ago I transferred some home video to DVD and had old video of the kids standing in front of these speakers like another member of my family (except the Polk's didn't talk back or get any taller)... Perhaps I'll break them apart and be buried with them... I'd expect a lot of the old stuff that gets discussed on this web-site have stories like mine and many folks just read the stories and think to themselves...

I will see if I can delete my top post....

At least my post count did increase...

With this being a "local only" deal from someone that seems sincere, I think it's a little different than some other sellers we've had come through here.

Anyway, nice speakers! Lot of local guys around here so maybe you'll get some interest.

Best of luck with you sale / adoption and either way, feel free to stick around and offer your thoughts, opinions since you have a lot of POLK experience.

You can't-the ability to edits posts has been disabled (and to much dismay). You can edit for the first 10 minutes only (or has it changed??)-Even if you have 10000 posts...You would have to ask a moderator (justin?) to edit or move the thread or something...
I would imagine a moderator can make a decision on allowing you to (or not) post in the FM with less than 25 posts at this point, at least you now have 10 posts to enable PMs. You could just look through the threads and post info you feel might be helpful and get yourself legit.

I know I'll feel safer when you have 25 posts

I'm still interested in the speakers and it would be local pick up. I understand the concern but still. I'm interested and I was the first one to show interest! :D Can I mention my email addy in here or is that taboo?
