I have been on the board for a while now and I just don't see that many Canadian Polk Owners. Some of you guys from the states are swapping and trading stuff, but it just doesn't work well cross boarder. Are there any Canadian members areound here?

Well, that's three of us. I'm in Vancouver so we have three provinces accounted for. Just out of curiousity, where/when did you discover Polk speakers?

I "discovered" Polk when a couple of years ago I walked into the "Brick" with my sore credit card and asked for the "Biggest and the Baddest" Speakers that they had..... I fell in love with my RT1000p's and the rest as they say is History.

    what's up!!!!!

Well, I bought my first pair of POLKS back in 1979 in NewBrunswick....I bought a pair of monitor 7's (i still have them and they're working fine) my cousin introduced them to me...he purchased the monitor 10's.......presently I using the RT800i/RT35i/CS400i/CS245i......I now live in British Columbia and I purchased some through Future shop and some through The Brick.

Is anyone planning to upgrade to the Lsi15's/Lsi9....ect in the near future?

I'd love to even get a chance to listen to the lsi line, but here in Halifax, there aren't any dealers that carry them. The only store that carries much Polk is Future Shop and the lsi is too high end for their market.

    Oh well,

There is ONE store in Alberta that carries the LSI line. I got a chance to audition the LSI 25's, pretty nice but the $4500.00/pr price tag was a little much for me. I saw the LSI 9 just before christmas, however they were not for sale and not even hooked up.

Maybe in a year or two - my RT line sounds pretty good to me....

Now if I could get these darn subs to work together......

    drive to Buffalo, N.Y.

Eventhough I live here in Canada, I love my Polks...;)

Wish there was a more knowledgeable dealer out here for Polks. We have Futureshop (CC / BestBuy type store) with less than helpful staff. Thankfully there's this forum and site.

This Polk dealer close to my place have very good staff, and they
can give you a good deal too.

Just don't go to The Brick or Future shop, you will be upset,
besides they're not carrying LSi line, their staff... NO knowledge
    about Polks:mad:

You know, if you BOTHER your local dealers for it, it will increase the chances of them waking up and calling us to carry the LSi Series. Canada is a tough market. I wish we could do more there, more support for our reps, more store and dealer support. Maybe someday. Start asking for stuff, and it will trickle down to you.

    Eh?

I'm speaking from old knowledge here, and I'm not sure I knew the correct story to begin with... but...

didn't the Canadian government subsidize audio research several years ago, and that led to the abundance of Canadian speaker manufacturers, like Paradigm, making decent speakers??

I found one store here that had the Lsi line in, but only for them to test and determine whether they are going to carry them on a permanent basis.

    I'll try bugging them Micah.

And no, we don't say "eh" all the time.

    Sure... Blame Canada...

Don't see much sense in bugging Futureshop/Brick for LSi's though. As har_navalta mentioned, the staff at Futureshop seem more interested in moving merchandise.

Did all my research on this site and in the forums. Walked into Futureshop, listened and compared the CSi30 to comparably priced JBL's, etc and bought the Polk. (btw had to eliminate the CSi40 cuz it was just to bloody big!! ).

If it matters to you Micah, this forum and my dealings with customer support were a big factor in my decision to buy Polk. I even put aside my aversion to Futureshop for it. Just my .02 cdn cents. .015 usd with exchange.

hotwheelman, you sound like you and your brother were on location at Wreck Beach.

VE60HV, ah, clubbing seals, the other Canadian winter sport... Just kidding.

Mississauga to be exact ! Near square 1.

Har_navalta, and any other fellow Torontonians. If you want to check out a very good place for Lsi's, I suggest G&G electronics .
Their in Scarborough and worth the drive.

They've got the Lsi 9's, 15's, 25's, and center. Despite having them only hooked up a sony receiver , their demo display is sweet ! :D

Been to Tabangi a few times, and while it's nice to have a second dealer to bargain with- I didn't find their service very good. Although I haven't purchased anything from there, I just get this feeling they're out to scam you. Only my opinion anyway.

Better check out G&G, it's like night and day there comparison !!
