I am looking around at integrated amps to potentially replace my NAD C370. I like the feature set of the Cambridge 840A v2 but would like to know how the sound quality of the Cambridge would compare to my current NAD C370. Anyone hear the 804A in action? Any thoughts on how it would compare to my NAD C370? Thanks!

It would definitely be a step up from the C370 IMO. I have the 840A V1 and
C160/C270 separates, and if forced to choose between them, I would keep the CA integrated and give the NAD separates the boot.

What do you like about the CA? Is it just better sounding all around?

Well I picked up an 840A v2 yesterday and will be returning it today. Luckily I had worked this out in advance with my dealer whereby I could take home a demo for a week and then return if it didn't meet my needs.

Pros: Great build quality, very solid, loved the display and HT bypass. Some classical music had a more airy liveliness to it than my NAD which I liked. Resoution was better than the NAD but not always in a good way - who would have thought that Diana Krall's look of Love SACD track has hisses pops in it?

Cons: The resistior ladder volume controll simply did not function correctly. Some lower level settings were actually louder than higher levels and sound would only come out of one speaker at times at certain volume levels. Also, the clicking you hear when changing volume levels would sometimes cause pops through the speaker. Overall, I thought the sound was a little thin with weak bass compared to my NAD C370. I felt a sense of emotion with vocals and instrumentental realism was lost with the 840A v2.
