I haven't had pay TV in years and just get by using my HD receiver and a pair of rabbit ears to get the 7 local channels. I'm finishing up the theater room in the basement and was thinking of getting the Bronze package they offer for $25 which includes 25 stations in 1080p. I was wondering if anyone had their service and what you thought of it? Also, any way to get a deal?

Thanks.

The 1080P is only for select pay per view movies. All package channels are still 1080i. The turbo tag is basically hype. It has something to do with the way data is transmitted from the sats to the receiver. I believe it uses a means with sends more bits per clock cycle or something like that. I haven't noticed a difference in HD resolution since the change, though.

Take a look over at the link below. You should be able to find all the information you need, including some threads on the 1080P quality of the pay per view movies.

I have Dish Network which I hate. I already had the HD package which get's me all of the HD programming they have. I woke up a couple of days ago and turned it on and the screen says "You have been upgraded to HD Turbo for free". I say woo de hoo and start looking for the good stuff. It's exactly the same from what I can tell although I never mess with pay per view so that may be where its at.

If you are getting satellite go with DirecTV and get the football. I know I am switching as soon as my contract is done, and I have been with Dish for 6 years or more.

It looks like the least expensive HD option with DirecTV is $40/month for only 9 HD channels plus the 45 or so digital channels. Dish's deal gets you 25 HD channels for only $25. I hate paying for TV and haven't for years but the thought of 25 channels of HD for $300/year sits well with me.

Thanks so far for the input. Anyone else?
