Cleaning Drivers

First time caller, long time listener.

I recently picked up a pair of 10A's. While they function fine, they obviously had been stored in a basement for many years. The cabinets while visually in ok condition, they reek of musty basement and mold. So I plan on building new cabinets.
The drivers while fully functional have a fine layer of dust and what appears to be mold. What is the best way to clean the drivers? Also what is the best way to store the drivers until the new cabinets are done?

The best way to clean the drivers is with Windex.
If the cabinets look OK I would remove the drivers and air them out in a dry sunny location.

The cabinets are going bye-bye, they spent at least a decade in the previous owners unfinished basement. They have been airing out for the past week or so without any change in smell. And the smell is extremely strong.

If you were closer I would give you an extra pair of cabinets which I have in storage.
A few years ago I purchased a set of 10s from eBay and all the drivers were frozen and tweeters blown.
The white stuff on the drivers is oxidation from glue used to attach the surrounds.
The only thing that might remove the musty smell is charcoal.

I want to build new cabinets. Jazz them up a bit, maybe a nice exotic veneer. Same internal volume and dimensons, but with more mass and a larger exterior size. Thanks for the offer though.:)

I'm pretty sure its mold/dust. When I drag my finger across the face of the drive it smudges, leaving a gray/green substance on my fingers.

I assuem you apply the Windex to a cloth, not directly to the driver's cones?

Windex sprayed on the cloth, wipe in a circular motion.
