I just saw a commercial for this flick, and it's got Pacino & DeNiro playing cop partners. Hopefully this won't be a disappointment like the last couple of flicks they've made.

I just rewatched Taxi Driver. It is amazing what Deniro used to pull off. He has definately lost whatever fire he used to have.

Does Pacino ever play anything but a cop, he's so type cast it's horrible. I never will watch this, can't stand Pacino for starters.

Well, he has to play a character who can yell a lot, so cops fit the bill pretty well.

Pacino is a shell of his former self (which wasn't all that great to begin with), but I think DeNiro can still bring it. Maybe not to Jake Lamotta levels, but especially his comic side has been good the past few years.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

88 mins was the worst garbage I saw this year. Not worth the time it takes to pick it up off the movie shelf and laugh while tossing it away.

I sure hope you were being sarcastic :)

Pacino is done. It's really time for him to retire. This movie is only slightly better than 88 Minutes.

He was done a very long time ago.

Honestly, I never saw much in the guy, very bland, below average actor. Never once has he been in a memorable role. Or done anything worth remembering.

Now come on Ron, that's a BIT overstating it. The Godfathers, Serpico was good, Dog Day Afternoon... even Scent of a Woman and Donnie Brasco are decent at least.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is overrated as hell, but there's a lot of good stuff in there until about the mid-90's when teh guy hit a wall and just became a parody of himself. Somewhere between Scent of a WOman and Devil's Advocate, I'd say, everything just went off the rails.

I can't agree with ya. Every film he's in, it's just Pacino acting as himself. Personally, I put him in the Keanu Reeves catagory, but that's just me.

That's true for a lot of the "great" actors -- John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Kevin Costner, etc. I suppose that's what makes them so good -- audiences can relate to them. Pacino's appeal is obvious -- he's an **** in every movie, and everybody knows a good **** or two.

Same is true in the music industry. Many music legends weren't great singers, including the "king of pop." Hell, you can throw virtually every major pop singer out there today into the "non-singer" category. Audiences like them in spite of their lack of chops.

    Watched this one last night.

    I liked it.

If the expectation is to see great performances from these two great (in their time) actors, then don't watch it. But the movie, for me, wasn't bad at all. Just forget who the actors are.

Watched it last weekend, thought is was OK, but maybe that's because I watched "Burn after Reading" first, which has to be one of the most boring films ever produced. Had to wake my wife up halfway through it.
