They seem to be a 5A as there are no markings other than the serial number that starts with 5A. Although mint, with flawless grills, cabinets and original boxes and drivers in perfect condition they don't sound that good. Since the drivers are perfect I want to upgrade the crossovers since I know from experience this driver combination can sound much better. All I see here is 5B and later schematics. It's a basic crossover so it will be easy to identify (hopefully) once I open them up. I'm going to remove the polyswitch's if it has them and upgrade caps and resistor. Just wondered if anybody has a 5A schematic or knows the difference. Thanks in advance!

    Pics or it didn't happen!
I want to see your tweeter.
Just look at the XO. Polk was not real accurate with the schems of the older speakers. There are only 2 caps, 2 inductors, and 2 resistors in there.

Please. Please contact me a ben62670 @ yahoo.com. Make sure to include who you are, and you are from Polk so I don't delete your email. Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
    Thanks

Here's a pic as requested! Looks like a Peerless to me.

on the outside next to the connectors. And probably one resistor, two caps and one inductor in the crossover.

thats what I thought,, then you won't have to worry about replacing/bypassing the polys,,as they don't have any. I picked up a pair from billw---replaced the resistor, caps and binding posts(not that I had to though,as they were in fine condition)and hooked them up to some little ASL mono's,,,unbelievable,,"mini sda's"---good luck with your new aquisition,,they are quite surprising,,,especially if you power them with tubes,,just my .02,,,enjoy. :)
