I have a Polk component set, a pair in front and in rear.
I have an alpine F450 4 channel amp.
When you use the fader, and fade in front (CH 1,2) centered I have much less bass then when I move it to the left and to the right. Each speaker separate produces bass. Channel 3,4 are cool.
Alpine says I have a phase problem, so I switched around +, - channels 1, 4 so as to not cancel one another out (they suggest). I also did it with 1, 2 just to see. Both attempts yield no results to correct the problem.
My final test was to unplug Ch.1 all together. I found that Ch.2 plays music on both L and R sides of the fade control w/ a little difference in sound quality, and visa versa.
Anyone know whats going on here?

This sounds like it is a car audio question? You might have a lot more luck over in the Auto section of the forum.
