Also I am now physically unable to work on any projects. If you need help let these guys know. There are many people who will help if you let them know where you are.
Thanks

The first ones with 3 mids and two tweeters. I think they're the first version

But are they any good ?

There are better ones. I personally don't care much for the dimensional tweeter. They are however a pretty good SDA considering that they are first generation, and one of the cheaper models. I had them they were real fun, but I moved on.

What would you recommend as far as sda's for a 24x16 room. I would like to get the big boys 1.2tl and 2.3 but my budget for my fronts are only $800 bucks.
I will be swapping my lsi 9's and hopely SDA's on my 2 channel rig -
1B's/1C's, or SRS-2's. Either of these can fill a room. You might be able to pull off 2.3's, or 3.1's. IMHO the SRS-2 have the widest sound stage, 2.3's/1's , and then 3.1's.

I have first generation sda2's. I disconnected the dimensional tweeter and it made a world of difference.
The other generations did this from the factory.
I think the first gen has more bottom end than the others though. Makes sense since it has 3 mids instead of 2. -
What are they worth paying
-
Whatever you can get away with. I paid $100 for some 2Bs that aren't in bad shape but need some TLC. I don't think I'd offer more than $150 for 2s in great shape.
Combo rig:
Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
PB13Ultra RO
BW Silvers
Oppo BDP-83SE -
Not to sidetrack the thread here, but would you guys recommend disconnecting the dimensional tweeter? As was pointed out, the 2a's and 2b's only had one tweeter.
Actually, I seem to remember that Matt Polk himself preferred the later 2's over most other SDA's because they were the perfect configuration. One tweeter, one stereo driver, and one dimensional driver, in the perfect arrangement. The only problem with them is that they don't dig real low, and don't have the volume of the bigger SDAs.Ludicrous gibs! -

YES! The high frequencies were all over the place in my first gen SDA2's. Just unplug one wire on the dim tweeter, and see how you like it. It will be a few DB down on the highs, but it gives you a real good idea of how it will sound. If you like it you may want to change the resistor in series with the stereo tweeter from 4 to 2.7ohms to bring the highs back up. No biggy. Let me know if you need any help.
