I'm surprised no one has made a thread about this movie yet... I just saw it last night and its one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while (probably since superbad). I never thought I would say this before seeing the movie, but robert downey jr was perfect for his role. I don't think anyone could have done it any better. He really made the movie

If some of you were reluctant to go because of the name ben stiller, don't. He actually made a good movie for once(well twice, "theres something about mary" was good).

I second that. I think it is highly underrated.

I wasn't like every other kid, you know, who dreams about being an astronaut, I was always more interested in what bark was made out of on a tree. Richard Gere's a real hero of mine. Sting. Sting would be another person who's a hero. The music he's created over the years, I don't really listen to it, but the fact that he's making it, I respect that.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Lots of Ben Stiller movies were funny, it's just that they'r eusually funny DESPITE him, not because of him.

Zoolander was funny because it had some good jokes, even though Stiller tried his best to overact and kill said jokes.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

I probably would have been bored throughout the movie if it weren't for Robert Downy's awesome role... it helped balance the stupidity and humor of the movie. But nevertheless, it was still a stupid movie with a lot of laugh out loud parts ;)

Ben's panda costume -> new halloween costume?? :D

That is what I loved about it. Its so stupid that you aren't supposed to take it seriously. It kind of reminded me of family guy and how stupid that show is... But its one of my favs even though its a bunch of garbled up **** put together. For some reason I can't get enough of it.

Yeah, exactly. I like stupid movies or shows like that in small quantities. Unfortunately, the majority of comedies nowadays have gone this route and you don't see as many in-depth or thoughtful comedies but it's great for cheap laughs.

I thought Jack Black's part was a little off but the other characters made up for it. It took me a while to figure out that was actually Tom Cruise! I didn't know beforehand and it wasn't until we saw him in person rather than on the little video conference they had that I realized it was him.

I watched this over the week end, and if you enjoyed the movie enough the first time to rent it now, or if your just now checking it out for the first time you have to watch the commentary by Stiller ,Black, and Downy Jr., it's every bit as funny as the movie if not funnier, and of course Downy Jr. still the show again, hilarious.

I didn't care for this movie. It had some funny parts, but for some reason just didn't do it for me.

Have to agree with wingnut on this movie...I fell asleep half way through it. I guess my expectations were too high based on the names in it.
