Any body in Washington DC area 20017 want to buy or trade. $185.00 (sold new for over $800.00)
Mint condition w/remote....3 Head deck, direct drive, dual capstan
...One of the BEST cassette decks ever made.....competed with the highend NAkamichi decks. Highly sought after for its special features. "Car" equalization, Dyneq circuits and Play-Trim adjustment.
Taken from the New York Times Awards below :
In regard to cassette decks, the award jury was evidently aware of the main challenge to the medium: to narrow the gap in sound quality between CD's and cassettes, so that the latter will sound acceptable even to listeners accustomed to the higher fidelity of CD's. This consideration clearly influenced the jury's choice in the case of the NAD 6300 ($898), the Nakamichi BX-300 ($750) and, in certain respects, also in singling out Sony's TC-WR950 ($700).
The NAD, discussed in this space at greater length last Sept. 20, is the only cassette deck offering both the Dolby HX-Pro and the Dyneq circuits, and this combination enables cassettes to come closer to the dynamic range of a CD. Another unique NAD feature singled out for special mention was the Play-Trim adjustment, which helps extract maximal frequency response from cassettes that had been recorded on other machines that may not have been properly aligned. It achieves high stability of tape motion, flutter and wow being specified at a mere 0.027 percent. This enables cassette recordings to approach, though not equal, a CD's steadiness of pitch.

Well, at least if the paranoid folks are correct, we won't have to worry about a bump in Jan 2013...
