...and from what I've read in user reviews, it does happen.

And, I thought sure that's what happens to eggheads who abuse their equipment.

Before I bought these R50's just about a month ago, I had been unleashing my yamaha receiver on a pair of R15's and a pair of R30's. I sold the R30's for some quick cash and, thinking of the R15's as basically a throw away pair, didn't think much about cranking the volume every now and again.

And those R15's hung in there.

So, after the left R50 tweet started buzzing, I thought I'd switch it out with an R15 tweeter seeing as how they look so much alike.

Low and behold.....the magnet on the R15 tweet is almost twice the size of the R50 tweeter magnet.

I know magnet size isn't everything...

But, I couldn't help but think it somewhat a coincidence that the same receiver which the R15's handled without breaking a sweat for several years could blow an R50 tweet in just a few weeks.

Is the R15 a better tweeter? Should I call Polk and tell them that I blew my R15 tweets so that they'll send me tweeters that I'd rather be using with my R50's?

Thank you for your input. And also I just want to say that I thoroughly enjoy listening to my R50's, and I still feel that Polk is an outstanding speaker manufacturer.
