Okay well we start our story 3 months ago as that is when all this began. My father had a apple powerbook g4 going on 2 and a half years. Running great and all. Than one day he drops it and cracks the screen on the bottom left hand corner. So what does he do gives it to me and goes and buys a new one. Now lets fast forward to today. Were I have been using it for about 3 months now and love it. Today while using it at work to make up a schematic when someone asked me for my help "maintenance". I gladly went had helped with the job when I returned i sat down it my chair and my food cough the cord of the laptop pulling off the work bench. Slowly I watched in horror as I tried to grab it. But no luck BAAM it hit the floor. On the front left side of the bottom part while it was on, open, and playing music. I though it was toast NOPE. I Picked it up has a huge dent in the left corner right were the hard drive is but. NOTHING broke everything works just fine. So now I sit her and type this using the same laptop that has been dropped once at 3 and a half feet and the second time at a scary 5 and a quarter feet right on to concrete. The end:)

I can't believe that! Who knew Apple had such a good build quality? I'm glad it's still working for you and you might want to back up the info on that laptop just in case...

My nephew just bought a new Apple Macbook Pro and they now come with a magnetically attached power cord so that if you catch it with your foot it will disengage from the laptop. Pretty handy. I have the same type of safety power cord on my Fry Daddy

Wow i like that feature I was reading a bit about that now also what saved me is the rapid moment device it senses rapid movement and stops the hard drive.

You could have proof read your post BEFORE you hit that "Submit Reply" button then you wouldn't have to worry about the editing limitations.

Well, it was 50 minutes later and I just got home, so it wasn't like I waited. :)

However, it does point out how STUPID the 10 minute edit rule is!
