Vintage Monitor 10A tweeter question..

First of all, this is a great site and I am new to it and Polk Audio, so have mercy on me being a rookie and a new Polk convert.
I just got my 1st pair of Polk Audio speakers ever (Yes I have been a die-hard Infinity lover for years). I bought these from an old friend for $60 (thanks Wes). They are in wonderful shape. I could not believe how good they looked when I cleaned them up. They sound fantastic, and I love the laid back sound stage they produce.
My question is this:
Each one has a different tweeter. My guess is that one was blown in the past, because the serial #'s are sequential.
I searched your site, and it looks like one has the original Peerless tweeter with a hole in the middle, and the other has a SL1000.
I can tell a difference in the sound from each one, but both sound pretty good to me.
Can anybody give me a suggestion on what I should do?

The tweeter with the hole in it is a Peerless tweeter. I would look for another one of those, they have a smoother sound to them. They haven't been made in a while though, so you would have to hope one pops up on here or on Ebay."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

Thanks a bunch guys. Sounds like the best thing to do.

I have a matched pair of monitor 10s (with the fuse on back and the peerless tweeters); one of my peerless tweeters is blown. If you find a pair I'll split the cost with you. If we don't have any luck I'll probably be selling the peerless one and dropping in a replacement pair of something....

Do you still want to sell a peerless tweeter? Thanks.

Never mind, I got a pair on ebay. Thanks.
