Just wanted to say thanks to Joe for letting me stop by his house today on our drive to Georgia. Today we decided to do half the trip from Boston to just past Richmond, VA. We left at 9am and arrived here at 9pm tonight and that included a 1 hour layover at Joe's house where my friend and I had the best roast pork sandwiches I've ever had. I got the chance to listen briefly to Joe's rig before we had to hit the road for another 240 miles, and it's absolutely amazing. I wish we had more time to stay but neither of us like to drive in the dark and forunately I only ended up driving in the dark for an hour.

Thanks again Joe and Phyllis for the letting us stop in.

Whatever it was, it was damn good. My friend had never had roast pork before and never tries new things and he ate it. It was amazing. I'm exhaustd right now but can't sleep. I drove 2 hous before getting to Joe's then drove another 4 hours after I left Joe's to where we are now. My friend(the reason I'm coming down here in the first place) has had a severe headache all day and not able to drive right now. The furthest he has ever traveled before is 2 hours and he's never been on a plane....this is quite the trip for him.

Sorry Jesse, I couldn't even stay that long, I felt bad leaving early but I'm not supposed to drive at night and my friend didn't want t odrive anymore. Kept asking to just find a place and stop for the night.....but no, I trucked on and got to our destination. We are right on schedule.

Ok, I'm curious. Why the heck are you driving all the way down to Brunswick for 1 day, then flying back up to DC?
For rig details, see my profile. Nothing here anymore...

wait a minute.....georgia isn't on the way to Washington DC? Damn I knew I shoulda paid attention in Geography class.

    KIDDING.

My friend is actually going to the police academy down here and asked if I would take the drive with him since the furthest he has ever driven by himself is 1.5 hours and has never flown on a plane. So I'm doing this drive with him then he is paying to fly me up to DC. Lotta work for a free ticket....let me tell you that much.... :)

He is going to the POLICE academy and has never driven past 1.5 hours or flown in a plane ....... and then asked someone to come with him because he had never done it by himself
( At the 1.5 hour point , he didnt reach out for your hand did he ;) )

Dont get me wrong, I am not jabbing at YOUR friend in particular... I just think that someone who wants to be a police officer should have experienced the common day in and day out experiences in life to know how they would react when a situation presents itself to them BEFORE entering the academy.

What if he freaks out in tight quarters with a lot of people with added stresses ( As in a plane....THAT wont be a part of the academy training )

We had a guy like that as an operator at my job who entered the police academy....21 years old...never been in a fight....never a girlfriend ( REAL mamas boy ) .....never left the little **** town he was born in his entire life....was like 5'7" and weighed maybe 150 pounds soaking wet.

Basically finished HS...couple years of college...still living in mamas house.....NO life experiences

He said he would make a good cop because he has seen every episode of Law and Order :D

thats funny SON i was thinking the same thing but whatever, I did him a favor.

Less than 12 hours left here in GA, thank god, can't wait to leave. Just went to a local sports bar.....they don't take too well to northerners. Brunswick is not for me, and neither is Georgia.

You're welcome Mark. I'm glad I finally got to meet you face-to-face even if it was a short visit. C'mon down again and put your feet up and stay awhile.

Damn straight BUBBA!(Well, in YOUR case, it would be BUBBETTE?)We don't need no yankee LIBERALS coming down here to take our guns and barbecue grilles!:p

Seriously though BL, don't let ONE bad experience, in what sounds like a backwater bar, pollute your opinion of the ENTIRE south.
I've been living down here for 3.5 years, and haven't been treated bad by the locals. Everyone seems friendly to me.

Dave you know where the house is and you also know the door is always open. Plus you need to hear the vast improvements to the rig.

And I'm currently staying in a house of FIVE, yes FIVE, die hard Obama supporters. I'm keeping my mouth shut on this one. The strange thing is....they have toy guns every where and are die hard liberal democrats? What gives?

Anyway, I'm here to check out condo's and jobs...not too much leisure on this trip. Just went to the spy museum......VERY cool. I suggest anyone coming here to check it out.

That is weird! Shouldn't they have toy tofu and protest signs instead?
