Well thats the good news!

The bad news is the grill is all jacked up! The box it came in was perfect. The same thing happened with my CS2 that i bought a couple years back :confused:

Where did you get your CSi5 from?
If life had more tubes it would be a lot smoother.

Bjorn, When you get the Csi5 would mind telling us whether you noticed much improvement from the Csi3?

The difference between the CSi3 and the CSi5 is night and day the CSi5 is huge and sounds way better IMHO.

What did you have before? CS2? I have the CS2 and was wondering if the upgrade to Csi5 is worth it. Most people say the Csi5 it is a lot better than the Csi3. However, the Cs2 has the same size drivers as the Csi5.

With you Rti10's the Csi5 would be a timbre match and should sound better. I've owned both a 3 and a 5 and there is no comparison. The 3 is a good speaker and if on a budget it'll do nicely but if you can swing the 5 you do it.

Yes, i had the CS2 before when i had monitors all around (70s in the front and 30s on the sides). I got my CSi5 before i got the RTi10s so i used the CSi5 with my monitor setup for about 2 weeks. The CSi5 has better clarity and is a bit brighter so it kind of stood out and made things sound out of balance. Now that I got the RTi10s I'm ready to boogy.

I like the monitors a lot but the RTi series is definately a notch up. I guess the price reflects that haha.

Bjorn, Thanks for the advice. That's what I wanted to know. As pointed out by daboyz, I realized that the Cs2 is not timbre matched for my Rti 10s, but I wasn't sure whether there is much of a difference in clarity/sound quality. Though I don't notice any significant mismatch in timbre, there are times when I feel as if the CS2 is having trouble holding its own. Sounds like another upgrade can be "justified".....

There is always a way to justify an upgrade :D But yes, the CSi5 rocks and you should get one! Although my little HK AVR-140 is having a hard time keeping up with teh speakers so now its time to get a separate amp  I guess that's how i will justify it :D

I wonder if polk needs to reconsider the way the pack their speakers? It seems that far too many of them get damaged in shipping. I think there is a whole thread out there somewhere dedicated to this exact topic.
