This year I recently Bought a HT system. My signature shows the equipment I bought. Only thing is I like is fairly loud and in 2CH mode for music I find the 12's a bit bright. I was thinking with the Denon I have to make my below setup for movies only and take the Rotel Amp for Zone 2 for music on my denon(haven't taken a hard look at this for the denon, seems to do able though), so my question is I have around 2G's for a set of fronts for music, I live in newfoundland Canada and I have no wear to go to demo high end speakers, So I usually have to go on-line and hear reviews and so on(better bad hey). I was think the LSI 15's(not limited to these) for fonts in 2ch, I hear alot of good things about them for music and my Rotel should power them with no problems! any one have a similar setup or advice(besides selling my speakers I have bought)

Thanks

I think that sounds like a fine idea. I have heard RTi12's in HT and think they are fantastic, but really, in 2-channel, the brightness hurts my ears. LSi15's on your zone 2 powered by your Rotel amp may be a fine way to go and you should be able to do it for quite a bit less than your budget if you go used.

The LSi9's also sound very good if you are looking for a monitor size speaker. The new RTiA series is getting good musical reviews. There was a writeup in this month's Stereophile. Check out the review in the magazine. Good luck!

Don't the RTiA's have similar voicing to the RTi's?

Jason, as far as I know there is not a replacement. Those speakers were designed for an HT application and for what they were designed for, they do well.

You might want to try adding a resistor in line with the positive terminal to help tame the tweeter down.
