So who's going to that concert? I've got my tickets for the 19th. This is how it reads on his website:

"It has been confirmed! Chris will be performing two nights in Boston at Symphony Hall with the Boston Pops Orchestra, September 18th and 19th, 2008. Both performances will be filmed for his next PBS special and Live DVD/Blu-ray release. You will not want to miss your chance to witness these performances, as Chris has invited many special guests, including: STING, JOSH GROBAN (9/18 performance), YO-YO MA (9/19 performance) and more! With this stellar gathering of brilliant artists and one of the finest orchestras in the world, these performances are going to be burned into our collective memory forever."

"STEVEN TYLER is now confirmed to perform both nights of Chris Botti's upcoming special with the Boston Pops!"

Looks cool -although a long drive for you. I don't know that I'm going to be around yet, but if you get stuck with anything, I'm a couple of miles from the Hall.

Wow that's great...potentially anyway. I haven't been to boston in over 20 years, and frankly, I know nothing about it. I would appreciate some pointers on what to see and do while in Boston. Also, what restaurants we should eat at. And very important....what area to stay away from. We intend to get there in the early afternoon the day of the show. Then we'll sleep over and spend the next day touring whatever needs to be toured. Btw...any hotel recommendations?

    Thank you in advance,

    Joe

Man, what a concert. I have family in Boston but it's not my favorite place to drive around. Chris Botti would be worth it!

    Joe,
I'll PM my email and number. Those tickets are just about unobtainable, nice grab. The acoustics in the Hall are world class, you are in for a treat.

Driving in Boston is avoidable. Take the subway if it's more than a 5 minute walk. . . it's pretty easy to figure out and is even color coded for the chemically indulgent. Grab a day pass on arrival, driving/parking/cabbing takes up too much time.

Got your PM, thanks. Yeah, I was on the phone for about an hour constantly hitting redial before I got through. I don't have good seats as far as I can tell....section QQ on the main floor, which seems to be waaaaaaaaaaaaay in the back. Oh well, if there's a fire we'll be the first ones to exit.

There isn't a bad seat in the house sound-wise. . .due to it's size, configuration and architecture. There's a decent wiki LINK on that Hall. My other half works across the street at the Prudential center.
