If you guys had to make the following choise, which would you pick:

3x RTi8 for the front
OR
2x RTi10 and 1x CSi5 for front

In addition to that the 3x RTi8 would cost half of what the other option cost. What would you do?

The reason I ask is because I'm in this exact situation right now. Would an RTi8 as a center channel sound equivealent or better than a CSi5. Would the soundstage be better with 3xRTi8 in the front instead of 2 different types of speakers? Can RTi8s fille a 20x17 room (which opens up to the rest of the house) with plenty of volume?

Thanks!

I think 2x RTi10 and 1x CSi5 would sound a little better. Have you thought about where you would put the RTi8 if you use it as a center channel? If you’re using it for home theatre you would need to put it right in front of your TV and the RTI8 is not exactly a small speaker.

In my opinion, I would take the RTi8's and get a good sub with the money you save. I think RTi8's + Sub = better then RTi10. And I've never used an RTi8 as a center but I imagine it would sound better then the CSi5.

Do you consider there to be any major shortcomings with the Velodyne CHT-12 i have?

Don't know. I've never heard the Velodyne CHT-12. Velodyne is a good brand though.
