while thoroughly engaged in wonderful listening of cat scratch at 4 am....

one of the 7c's tweeter stopped cold in it's tracks.......

switched the tweeters( one has been replaced b4- one is stamped 1984-- the other 1994---8 ohm ) & it's not the tweet :(:( damn crossover thingy !!!!

Guess I'll pull the lsi9's outta the closet till repairs are done to XO-- might need advice--- I can use a torch -- not sure about a soldering iron :D:D

    So no fuse eh? If not, sounds like a polyswitch? Not too bad replacing them,,I was going to suggest bypassing them, but if volumes are an issue you just may want to replace both of them and be safe--good luck.

    Damn Nugent....started his career killing speakers....then when that died down he started killing every animal on the planet ( Hey, he eats them so its all good :) ) .....now he is back to killing speakers. A fully completed circle :D

    My 7C's are fused, it's a simple check. ;)

    If you've already checked the obvious, replacing a capacitor or resistor in Monitor 7's is pretty easy.

    Mr. Nugent must be gettin older if can't even kill a little ole pair of 7c's

    Yes Ted has been know to blow speakers...LOL
    But if you want to test a set of used speakers....try Zack Wylde..not Ozzy stuff, his own solo Cd's.
    If there is a speaker thats close to blowing up...it will........LOL
