Need to replace my FXi5...Any thoughts
Here's what I got:
Fronts: RTi 10
Center: CSi5
Surrounds: FXi5
I am starting to realize that I don't like the indirect sound of the FXi5 surround speakers. Think I would prefer a straight fire design.
My surrounds are mounted on my wall about 4 1/2 feet above the ground about as close to 110* from center as I could possibly get. It's prob. more like 95-100* due to my basement has a squared off drywalled support beam where 110* would be. I am running my system via Onkyo's 805 model. I have run the auto setup and topped that off with an SPL meter to fine tune the levels. Watching blu-rays I still find the surrounds to too washed out. I feel like I'm loosing my sound stage because of this.
What would recomend for straigh fire desing? I was thinking RTi 6/4s.

So I assume then by your comment that the Rti4s don't have a wall mount on them?Rti4s, would work well, paired up with the Btech-77 wall mounts.

None that I saw on mine, since they are considered a bookshelf speaker. FXi5s make for excellent rear surrounds also.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

Well I found this picture (http://gallery.audioreview.com/showphoto.php?photo=1232&size=big&cat=500&sort=1) and it does look like there might be a small key hole for hanging.None that I saw on mine, since they are considered a bookshelf speaker. FXi5s make for excellent rear surrounds also.

perhaps you can hang them from the keyhole in the power port, however I found the Btech 77 provides tons more flexibility/adjustment with sound placement.Shoot the jumper.....................BALLIN.............!!!!!

yes , you can try the RTi 6/4s , that is better cause you see on the cost side , for its feature set I doubt you are going to see it going much below its current street price unless you score on a short term special. It is a bargain at this price. Ultra2 receivers used to be in the $3k range. In recent years though fewer audio makers are licensing with THX.
On the musical disortion side , i have a minimum idea cause i aint used 1.
