OK it's the tweeters tweeting:) I have Morel MDT20's in my big SDA's, and they sound great, but they do not hold up in the long run. I have gone through about 5 in about two years. I am only using one per speaker, and the tweeters just can't keep up to 126db levels. The XO is now 24db at 2000. The power handling of the MDT20's is 120wrms, but what they don't tell you is at what XO point.
Well here is my dream tweeter.

Much better power handling, and it is almost 3db more efficient. The efficiency difference has the same effect as being able to handle twice the power. Diagrams are only about $25! I could stock up on them. The VC fries who cares. Easy cheap swap. The other two solutions would be to do an array so the tweeter could share the load, but this has more detriments to sound stage/frequency/phase than the single tweeter option(russman you were 1000% right!). Second would be to incorporate a midrange to handle say 2000-5000, but this would add complexity to the XO, and mid-ranges that sonically match are expensive, and don't handle enough power:(

Sorry to disappoint. I would much rather listen to a decent set of speakers than a woman:) Talk about listening fatigue:rolleyes:

Ladies have I ever mentioned that I am single, and available:eek:
I am just kidding. Women do have their nice points. Like the two that cap off their mammary glands:D:eek:

Ah.... I will FINALLY get my ears on a pair of SDA's this weekend. Please make sure they are in commision Dr. Polkenstein.
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore
