Going Home Finally

After 97 days on the road working 7 days a week and having only 8 days off but only 4 in a row I am finally going home for a rest. I haven't heard any of my rigs since I've been gone. The stereo in my truck has had to do for the time being. I've tweaked that sucker till I can't tweak it anymore. I must have close to 50 packages waiting for me at home and at Mary's house. It should be like Christmas when I get home. I have new speakers, pre/pro, amps, DAC's, tubes, albums, stands, cables of all types, isolation cones, isolation decks, CDP's, bass management, subs, surge protectors, power conditioners and all kinds of other stuff.

I plan on taking EVERY 2 channel rig (4) down and starting all over again with the combination of gear. I'll throw some of the newly aquired stuff in the mixes and see what happens. I have a new HT set-up to put together. New wiring to run in the walls. I have walls to paint and furniture to buy for the listening rooms. Albums to frame and posters to "have" matted and framed. There are cases of wine to sample. I have a mini Polkfest to attend. My son plays with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra on Saturday night. I have a phone NOT to answer. (actually 4 phones NOT to answer) I will fell a tree across my driveway to keep people out of the house and bothering me.

Its almost a 4 day drive from California to Georgia, but I have lots of sights along the way. I'll take a different route back home as I've seen the sights along Route 66 & I-40 when I came out west. The World's Largest Ketchup Bottle will have to wait till next trip. I'll map out a few audio stores to hit along the way to break the boredom of the ride. I'll pick up a topless hitch hiker (female) along the way for company. It should be an interesting trip back home. I can't wait to get there and sleep in my own bed for a change. Best of all I have a group of Polkies to meet on the 16th. Some new and some I've already met. And all that glorious gear waiting for me at home to put my ears on.

See you guys in a few days.

Chuck

    Chuck,
I won't be able to get to Bens. Gotta pick up family from the airport that day and otherwise too busy with the little ones.

No rush on getting that 'gift' from you, that is, unless you want to get it out of your truck to lighten the load, which I would understand. I'll shoot you my phone#.

Drop it off at my place. That way Bill will have to come over eventually;):)
Seriously Bill is welcome anytime if this helps.

I've made that drive on a whim before, and it's a brute. Happy trails!
I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Surfing the internet and driving at the same time kills over 10,000 people a day. Or so my sources tell me.
