I'm looking to buy a pair of RM50T or RM8000T (same model, different color) new or used (preferably used).

Used, I'm willing to pay ~$250 + shipping. FYI, the amount isn't arbitrary, but I can buy a pair of RM8000T, New, for $500 from url]http://www.highdecibels.com/proddetail.asp?prod=RM8000T[/url. I trust roughly half for a used pair is reasonable.

Many thanks for your time.

-Alex

PS. Would also consider RM7400T / RM40T

    Hey Axle,

Nice website find with hidecibels.com ... I checked it out and did notice that re: the RM50T it was $499 for each individual speaker .... I had to check it out because the price seemed other worldly for a pair.

Shoot!... lol, I thought that was a pretty good deal for the pair.....

Well, it seems though that a fellow poster also found one on Amazon for $320 each which would be $640 a pair.

These are hard as hell to find. I'm interested in them due to the fact that they are floor standers (vs the RM30s, which I would have to buy stands for). I can find the RM7400T / RM40T, which are the floorstanding versions of the RM30s you've got, for roughly ~$150-$250 on eBay (+ shipping, new) but would really be curious on the step-up due to the lower -3db range (55hz) on the RM50T / RM8000T

Don't know what to expect but thought I'd try my luck at Club Polk.

    Thank for the heads up.

BTW, have you compared your 4 to any others in the Polk line? If so, how do they measure up?

$350 shipped on amazon.com (listed as NEW)

Good speakers, I have 4 of them.

I replaced some old Bose 601s and 501s, so a direct comparision would have been difficult. I run them in tandem with Polk RTi6s from a 200wpc Adcom GFA-555 amp and Emotiva pre-pro. They are complimented well by a subwoofer in my opinion. I am very happy with them. I have other Polk Products - surrounds, and centers - via my Home Theater Setup. I bought the two sets of Polk RM8000Ts when Tweeters went out of business in California.

Give the Polk VM line a look as well. If you go to the Polk store, on ebay, you find the VMs from time to time. They are sold as refurbished, but look new to me. Only difference is the 180 days warranty instead of 5 years. I bought a pair of VM 10s, for less than $200. They were shipped quickly - had them in a couple of days. You might also check on Audiogon.com now and then as well. Currently, they have some Polk LSi15 floorstanding speakers (4 ohm) demos. You would need ample amp power to run 4 ohm speakers. Speakers are a funny thing, price point doesn't always prove the most pleasing. Listen to as many as you can if that is possible.

PS: Speaking of Emotiva, they have low price quality stuff if price point is an issue. Check out emotiva.com. Good luck.

Yeah, I am interested in the VM line too but I've never heard them and can't seem to find them set-up anywhere.

I wanted to order off of the eBay store but Polk won't deliver to Canada
    :(

    Thanks for the link(s)

    Hey Axle,

I would get in contact with Walter Moser, Polk Audio Canada Theater Sales Manager. You can contact him at WMoser@polkaudio.com or you can reach him at 905 457-0164 regarding your interest in the RM8000T or VM series search. He hooked me up in the past with the RM201s and most recently an LSiC. I will be contacting him in the near future re: LSi9s. So if you dont have these in your area he may be able to hook you up with these products or let you know where he distributes them in your area.

    Hope that helps.

No offense but do you really think anyone is going to sell you a $1700 MSRP pair of speakers for $250? Seems unreasonable.

And the store you linked to is a known scam, so comparing prices to them is pointless.

    No offense taken.

I would hope that whoever was willing to sell, would look further than the initial post. It was pointed out that the price was for a single speaker (vs pair) but that Amazon is also offering the same speaker for $350 shipped (new), hence $700 a pair ... which used should hopefully come to some amount under $700

I don't think I can edit the initial post but that would be a good idea if I can. All in all, I am just looking for someone who even is willing to sell it, which I can't find.

For those that are sick of seeing this thread, my apologies, this is my final bump.

Anyone with RM towers (RM7400T / RM8000T / RM40T / RM50T), please message me if you are interested in selling.
